Blue Team v. Osiris....who trusts who?

Hello everyone. I just wanted to try and provide a theory with everyone. It’s about trust.

We’ve heard a lot about trust in the last year. The e3 2014 trailer when the arbiter says he’s not sure if he trusts agent locke. The halo 2 anniversary prologue and epilogue with Osiris and the swords of sanghelios again saying they don’t trust locke and he has to earn trust.

My main concern is the trust within fireteam Osiris. Obviously they are a newly put together team with all different backgrounds. I think vale will always listen to the leader, spartan locke…but buck and possibly tanaka have me thinking a little. We hear buck at e3 2015 demo kind of question orders and saying in a sense it isn’t right to hunt the chief and people are gonna hate them. I feel like buck and possibly tanaka will be going with orders and at the same time going against them by possibly using the arbiter to communicate with chief in private and tell him what is coming for him. And at the end when maybe all hell is about to break loose buck turns against his squad and maybe there is a scene like in halo 2 where the arbiter tells tartarus about the truth of the rings but this time buck tells fireteam osiris that they are wrong about blue teams goals.

This is just a little thing to point out but tell me what you think. Where is the trust in fireteam osiris? Is there any?

Thanks for reading

I don’t know but I only trust myself and my BR.

I think Buck will leave Osiris.

I’m thinking the same thing but I also thought he might become the leader if he proves himself right. I know that takes away from the purpose of halo new blood but it would be awesome

I’m thinking that too.

Besides him trying to do what’s right and helping blue team I wonder why else he would leave…maybe it’s the guardians

My point exactly. I believe he will be presented with some sort of morality question and will have to decide (right, I assume) which route to take. Also, the cutscene showing Buck drawing his pistol without his helmet leaves me to believe that he was surprised (I doubt it) or he knew the person(s) he was drawing on.

Buck isn’t leaving Osiris. Why?

  1. That’s essentially impossible with the 4 player squad mechanic in Halo 5.
  2. He’s not the type of person to betray his team.
  3. He’s the one who wanted to be on a team and not be the leader. Having him try and order the team he’s on around essentially makes all that pointless.

Unless Osiris splits at the very end of the game (meaning when there’s no gameplay left) then there’s no chance of the team being split up.

The guardians could really play a roll with Buck. Maybe the guardians could show Buck something that would make him leave.

I could imagine the whole team of osiris splitting up.

I’m saying:

  1. he will leave in a cutscene at the end to try and get the rest of Osiris to see the truth behind why blue team went awol

2)he’s not betraying them. He’s gonna try to persuade them to see the truth.

  1. once again he’s not gonna leave or boss around Osiris he’s gonna get them to see why hunting blue team is wrong

Either that or maybe the librarian or the warden eternal shows buck the truth

Buck is going to shoot Chief calling it now.

That’s what I was thinking. If he had his helmet off he wouldn’t be in combat so he could be potentially drawing the gun on someone from Osiris

I’m curious how the librarian will play a role.

As for the warden I think he’ll just only be a boss fight. I hope he’s more than that.

Maybe in a cutscene buck gets split up and falls into a portal or something. Idk. But she says why blue team are using the guardians and that Osiris is hunting them for the wrong reasons

  1. Uh what? We’re going to find out why they went AWOL in Halo 5. I highly doubt it carries over into Halo 6. Like I said, unless Osiris splits at the very end of the game (meaning when there’s absolutely no gameplay left) then it’s not happening as it’s impossible due to the Halo 5 squad mechanic.

  2. Going against direct orders and leaving the team you were assigned to is an act of betrayal.

  3. So you say he’ll leave and then you say he won’t leave? Which one is it? Either way, it doesn’t matter as the probability of Osiris joining up with Blue team in the end is quite high anyway.

I hope he isn’t a boss fight. I hope he actually is an interesting character that is there helping blue team and maybe buck

Anyone else curious to see chief fully utilize the mantle?
