Blue Team return in Halo Infinite

Do you think Blue Team should return in Halo Infinite and what role do you think they would play if they do return.
I would personally love to see them return, with the whole story focus being on Master Chief and Blue Team, I’d especially love to see their faces from under the helmet and I think it would be sweet if, they too, got some classic Halo armour.
What do you guys think?

I would like to see Blue Team and Osiris return as secondary characters. I don’t want a repeat of Jul’ where they just got rid of a bunch of people because they didn’t like that story.

I’m torn here. I would like to see them return, just because they were so poorly underutilized in Halo 5. However, if 343 doesn’t want to spend the time developing their characters in-game, then perhaps it is best they don’t return.

I would like to see Blue team return in some capacity though. It’s a tough thing to Ballance narratively.

If Fred, Kelly, and Linda are left out of Infinite’s narrative, then I’d like to see John get another A.I. It would be someone to have conversation with that doesn’t require another character physically being there, But would allow character development for John.
personally, (I’d love for John to find the Rubicon and have Chakas as his A.I) there’s so much story potential for that situation.

I would like to see them and Osiris return as just side characters. The story should ultimately focus only on Master Chief because he is the main protagonist.

Completely agree, if no effort will be put into their characters or if they will only be side characters, then I do not think they should return. I’d just love Blue Team and the Chief to be the focus of the story.
Although it’d be great to have John have some development with another character (hence I’d like his family, Blue Team), I would be opposed to him getting a new AI.

I understand what you are saying, but unlike the original 3 games and Halo 4, Chief was with Cortana which allowed for his character development and such, but as Cortana is now the enemy and he most likely will not be in contact with her for most of the game, he needs some sort of contact with another or other characters to continue and develop him, which is why I think it should be Blue Team, with the story focusing on all 4 of them as they are his family.

i hope they play a major role in the next game and are with chief the whole game with the squad stuff coming back from halo 5, just hope the AI is much better for when i’m not playing co-op.

Well, he could have the Arbiter with him or possibly that AI he was putting in his helmet in the E3 trailer.

I’d rather they get rid of the squad stuff and just have them fight alongside the Chief in some missions like how Arbiter did in Halo 3.

I always felt the arbiter and by extension uzse and ntho got a little shafted in halo 3, I would’ve prefered he/they had a constant presence like the squads in halo 5 or a split campaign like halo 2(chief and blue team then aribter, rtas, uzse, ntho)

Plus it never really made sense to me for chief not to be with his squad and was something that always bothered me in halos 2 and 3 after finding out blue team was alive and with him when arriving back at earth in first strike. Also I’ve wanted to play as a squad of spartans in the campaign since I first started playing so i’d hate to see it go after one game.

But i get not everyone feels the same as me

If they go an Arbiter route for Osiris at least. They need to stop treating them like they are the greatest team to ever live. Blue Team would be closer to that, and even then they should be secondary.

Definitely would LOVE to see Blue team back, and this time they utilise their backstory fully to humanise and develop Chief and them more fully. I feel like we’re past the era (as consumers of games) of games with blank slate main characters, aren’t we into the era where we want envigorating characters who have enough personality and history for us to care for their narrative within the story.
Given Halo: Bad Blood, I don’t think we’ll see Osiris much, if at all in Infinite.

I mean, Halo 5 doesn’t actually do that. At best, the prologue where they descend down amidst the battle between the Covenant and Prometheans shows what they are capable of and it’d be pretty silly for 343 to not portray Spartans as powerful soldiers.

What I was thinking ^^

If anything, I don’t think that opening was about Osiris being the biggest baddest Spartans of 'em all, I thought that was about showcasing what Spartans could do, all of them in general.

And consider the events of the game itself. Yes, the terminated Jul 'Mdama and rescued Dr. Halsey, but did they prevent Meridian Station from being devastated? No. Did Locke capture the Master Chief? No, he got a few good hits in, but Chief beat him. Did they beat the Covenant? Only with the help of the Arbiter and the Swords of Sanghelios. Did they save Chief? Yes, but they did not stop Cortana.

For supposedly being the “greatest team to ever live”, they have a pretty mixed record in Halo 5. But people see what they want to see even if its not there.
