Blue Team Prologue Mission

Would you want to play a Blue Team Prologue mission showing Chief fighting alongside them back in the past?

On the one hand this would be a good way to introduce Blue Team and their history with Chief to people who aren’t familiar with Halo stuff outside the games.

On the other it would disrupt the mystery of the search for Chief premise, and loose a bit of the thrill when we get to see Chief for the first time after a long search by Locke.

Great idea!

This would be freaking amazing

AWESOME IDEA! I would love it

I think it would be the best way to introduce blue team and their specialties.

Abso-freaking-lutely!

Maybe it could be a somewhat transitional mission where you transfer control from Spartan to Spartan at intervals, like a playable version of The Package from Halo Legends.

That would be cool, however I think they may go the prologue cut scene way.

However if we get a mission, that would be a nice mission to show off at E3 without spoiling anything.

I think this would be a very cool way to introduce the game, and would be a bad -Yoink- way to bring some amazing characters to the game in a context that doesn’t need to tie into an overall story.

As cool as this sounds, I don’t think this is likely. The game is already too big in scope to introduce Chief’s relationship to Blue Team as something significant to the story/campaign–in its own mission, no less. In other words, for this to be an actual prologue mission, it would have to have resonance with the rest of the story, which I think has already expanded far beyond anything Blue Team can offer.

Why not make a whole game dedicated to following Blue Team’s exploits?

Anything with blue team is welcome. Well, except their deaths.

They way how I most likely see the campaign going is that it will be split like halo 2, between Chief and locke. The first mission with both of them will have introductions to the team, and will negate any need for a flashback. I can see chiefs missions being set in time before locke’s ones, as locke’s team tries to hunt chief down, similar to rookie in halo odst.

Awesome idea!
OMG the hype’s gonna kill me!

Books.

I think what would be a good way to introduce Blue Team AND to have a transition from H4 to H5G is make a short prologue mission/cinematic or whatever showcasing their missions during Halo Escalation. Transition, showing what happened during those comics, while also introducing Blue Team to everyone.

Maybe it would even help the people understand even better than the mission could alone.

YEAH!

The opening of the Fall of Reach as a cutscene, would blow my mind.

Great to see so many positive responses to this!

This wouldn’t even be an issue if Bungie would have just made Halo Reach line up with the lore…

I do think a mission (maybe a short intro mission like Dawn from Halo 4) to introduce Blue Team to the games would be a good idea, as opposed to them just popping up seemingly out of nowhere.

I think they are going to introduce blue team in Steven Spielberg’s Halo project before the game comes out, but I agree that there needs to be some sort of introduction in some fashion (not the books/comics but a movie/show or a mission)
