Blue Team in Halo 4?

We’ve probably all heard Frankie’s response to whether or not Blue Team would be appearing in Halo 4. He said they would not be appearing in Halo 4 but they would eventually be reconnected to the universe and become germane to the core game story. This leads me to believe that they will actually be in Halo 4, but not the main campaign. He says just before that that it will be a lengthy process and I immediately thought of Spartan Ops. Continuing six months after the Campaign ends, Spartan Ops will be a lengthy story told in weekly parts and possibly multiple seasons. I can understand why they would be absent from Campaign for story reasons but six months later it makes sense that they would become involved in someway.

Now we have all probably learned that Fred and Kelly will be appearing in Forward Unto Dawn as well. Here is a pic of their actors in costume. Now, they are clearly wearing Mark V armor, which could mean that for budgetary reasons they had to reuse the Noble Team outfits and we just have to excuse it as a “unavoidable canon mistake.” Or it might mean something else entirely. In The Thursday War, Naomi-010 is wearing Mark VII Armor but it’s described as looking like the “retro” Mark V armor. Since we know scenes of Forward Unto Dawn do take place in modern time, such as the opening of the first episode, does this mean that their appearance is actually a modern one and they are wearing “retro” looking Mark VII armor just like Naomi?

One problem with this theory is that they have the “old” UNSC logo on their chests but that could be a mistake. Or not. Either way, what does everyone else think?

Edit: Also, if they appear in Halo 4 wearing retro Mark V armor then that would definitely make them unique, just like the Chief, compared to the Spartan-IVs. If this is the case then perhaps Mark V is the special unlock for reaching level 130? I know they said the current builds on display had “all the armor” but maybe they are still keeping it hidden. I mean the Chief’s armor is in the game but it’s not usable in Multiplayer so if there is a Mark V in Campaign then it too may not be available to Multiplayer.

This is all theoretical.

Well, Frankie said we will meet some characters we know in Spartan Ops. Guest stars and so on. I would bet that we see other Spartans there. No way 343i will wait till Halo 5, hehe.

Maybe Maste Chief meets the Blue Team at the end of Halo 4 and the Blue team will have bigger role in Halo 5 and 6.

It does sound plausible that they would be in Spartan Ops. After all, SO isn’t in the game technically, the next seasons will be DLC, so he could still be telling the truth even if it is in SO. :stuck_out_tongue:

You can see Fred at 16:00 in the newest FuD. It really looks like he is wearing the Mark V B instead of the traditional Mark V though.

OT: I think for being some of the last remaining Spartan IIs they should be able to keep their original helmets. No nanotech upgrades…

I don’t know if that was Fred or not. It was dark and went by really quick. It could just have easily been the Chief, IMO.

As for the last of the Spartan-IIs, I think they should be given the very best equipment money can buy. I mean there aren’t many of them left and being the longest living Spartan Soldiers with the most experience they should be made into a special unit. The best of the best.

It’s definitely Fred. If you play it frame by frame you can clearly see the number on his chest as he’s reloading an assault rifle

Wait I see what you guys are talking about. I was looking at the part where Lasky is looking out the window and he sees a shadowy figure fighting.
