Blue Team Armor Gen1 or Gen2?

At first it may seem that Blue Team is wearing Gen2 armor based on aesthetics but keep in mind that’s not always the case. Arbiter’s Elites changed from Halo 2/3 type armor in H2A’s Prologue and Epilogue scenes to Halo 4/5 style elites with no explanation.

Is Chief still wearing the technically inferior customized Mk VI or a Gen2 model made to look identical to it?

They are all wearing Gen 2.

This is wrong. It’s not simply MK VI, it’s a customized MK VI, it’s even in the canon now. Hunt the Truth showed Chief in his Halo 2 armor, and the canon multiplayer now has a MK VI Gen1 armor that looks like that of past Halos. They need to either get their information straight or finally just come out and say it is a retcon.

The Armor we see in Halo 4 is an upgrades version of his Mark 6. Cortana modified it with nano machines while he was sleeping. Plus if you look at this armor and compare it to his Halo 4 version you can see it no long has a chunk of metal missing from the right side of his chest plate.
P.S. If its stated on this site that his armor is Gen2 then its Canon regardless of what you think.

He got it repaired/upgraded during Escalation. Its GEN2 now.

I mean that the description of Chief’s Gen2 MK VI being treated as the same MK VI there has always been is an incorrect description unless it’s a retcon. We know the original MK VI exists in canon now but Chief’s current suit is being treated as standard MK VI, which it isn’t.

I am not even sure you’re correct in saying “it’s being treated as the standard MK VI,” but it is the standard Mark VI. At least since Halo 4.

It says “Without question the most famous of all Mjolnir permutations,” as if it is the same MK VI from the past, but it looks completely different. It has only a passing resemblance to the original. 343i themselves came up with the explanation that nanobots changed Chief’s armor, but nowhere in actual lore(like from books, comics, etc) have I seen any mention of that. It’s a frickin’ half-baked retcon. If no one had said a word about it and just accepted it as-is, there would be no nanobot explanation, and we all know that. It’s a retcon through and through until there is some mention of the differences in actual canon.

I’m pretty sure he means that Chief’s armor in Halo 4 (the one Cortana upgraded) is being treated as the standard issue Mark VI armor when it isn’t. Chief’s armor in Halo 4 is supposed to be Mk. VI GEN2, but now they’re saying that his newest set of armor (the one that has Spartan Abilities) is Mk. VI GEN2 when it should be Mk. VI GEN3. Correct me if I’m wrong.
