Back when they announced Blue team was gonna be part of Halo 5, the first thought that got me really excited was…abilities. But then 343 announced that every member of Blue Team would have no unipue abilities, just different loadouts. This was done to avoid discontent among choice of playable characters. But IMO having abilities would have been a really cool idea. For example,
Kelly - higher base/sprint speed
Linda - more x zoom in her sniper rifle
Fred - stronger melee maybe (He doesnt have a unique physical ability as far as I can remember)
John - ??? Luck?
If anyone has read Fall of Reach, their abilities were showcased so well in the book…with Kelly, with her incredible speed, being used as bait to lure enemies out and Linda shooting Elites out of flying Banshees. And John utilised his teams unique traits in combat.
I was really bummed out when they announced there wasn’t going to be any special skills/abilities. But then again if they did give Blue Team abilities theyd have to give Team Osiris abilities also. But I dont really care for them.
In any case, just a hopeful wish for the Halo 6 maybe?
What are your thought? What abilities would you have for both the teams?

Players can abuse that ‘luck’ though. Have John pick up 4 dead Jackals Beam rifles, and the drop them for the rest of the team to pick up. Haha nice idea though. Just need s a little tweaking
Maybe John’s ability would be the opposite of the Tough Luck skull; enemies more likely to flee, are clumsy and don’t always dodge, miss shots more often. Just an idea, but it would probably mess with the balance of the game even if campaign only.
It makes sense to have abilities, as every member of Blue Team has a unique trait. It’s a bit disappointing that they don’t, but at least no one is going to be whining about wanting to play as a character because of their abilities. Without them, everyone’s going to fight over loadouts instead. Wonderful.
