Giving Recon Armor to everyone on Halo 3 is just ridiculous, everyone worked hard to get it showed dedication to get it. So why not give Blue Flames to everyone on Reach? Its basically the same thing. I’m not saying this because I don’t have the Blue Flames (because my other account does) I’m just saying it because its basically the same thing.
Recon wasn’t like Blue Flames
Recon was openly available to anyone when they completed the Vidmasters, it was a bit of fun to earn a cool piece of armour.
Blue Flames were Bungie’s farewell gift from Halo as a whole, hence why they changed the medal on Bungie.net to say “Win a match when a Bungie fan is on the other team, in matchmaking or custom game.”
Blue Flames won’t return for us all to use like Recon is.

But Bungie would not have done this, so its basically the same thing.

The only reason it is happening is because 343i had & clearly, no plans to continue the Road to Recon on Waypoint, it was a Bungie thing.
The Blue Flames itself was unlocked when you received the Bungie nameplate, considering 343i have no plans to support nameplates, they won’t be giving anyone blue flames any time soon.

That would be cool if they added new nameplates though, so since they won’t support nameplates how will we change them?

We can’t, making Blue Flames redundant.
blue flames are bungie footstep on reach, but there’s pp who p.hard for recon and now everyone can get it that’s a little awfull
Because nobody cares about Halo 3 anymore?

There are still people that love to play Halo 3

Not enough for 343 to care.
Wait, you don’t have to do videmasters for Recon anymore?
> Wait, you don’t have to do videmasters for Recon anymore?
As of March 31st, no.
I really like having blue flames and making sure that no one can get it now. Blue flames are so much better than inclement weather, and I love them because if you are new to the game or were just too lazy to get them you will never get them. I’m sure if people really wanted recon, they would of gotten it long time ago.
most people are missing bungies ideas like nameplates ect but bungie don’t have power anymore so when you think about it there’s a new start form 343 so give them a chance
We need blue flames it is not Fair that you gave out for a day or maybe a week for IOS people just give it away like you did with the recon helmet in halo three

They do not have the technology to transfer the flames like Bungie did as they owned the app and the website (stuff didn’t transfer fully as 343i took the reigns of Halo). It is fair, it was a limited time thing. What wasn’t fair was the iOS thing.
Also, to add to what Peculiar Angel said, please don’t bump 3 years topics

Go ask Bungie. THEY are the ones that “gave them out for a day or maybe a week.”
Also old thread is old.

…except it was never exclusive to the Bungie App/iOS.
Blue flames could be claimed directly from the Bungie website for a two week period, which is how I got mine. Users with the Bungie app got access to it a week or two earlier, but it was never exclusive to them.
