Bloom

If it’s going to be in Halo 4, it shouldn’t be the same as in Reach. The algorithim for which it expands needs to be adjusted and the bloom needs to go about 3x bigger. Pacers would definitely win then.

If they do bring back bloom I hope that they make it like this so that spammers would never win.

I never understood bloom… If you ask me, I’d just take it out. Of course it’s my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

That may be one of the funniest misspellings of ‘reticle’ that I have ever seen.

Hey, don’t make fun; it’s a serious problem that affects millions of men worldwide.

On a completely unrelated topic: I snorted cereal out of my nose when I saw the title of this thread.

When you think about it, it really isn’t a problem. I mean, don’t you have erectile bloom?

Funny, I remember this thread in the Halo Reach forum on Bungie.net back when Reach was launched.

Can’t we just go back to the old days without bloom?

I miss those. Everything was so much less complicated.

If spammers NEVER win that defeats the purpose of bloom altogether. Bloom inherently encourages spamming. If spammers have a .01% chance of getting a kill then they may as well take bloom out entirely.

I wish you hadn’t changed the title of this thread; it made my day, and my day was only half an hour old at the time.

Bloom isnt halo in my eyes.

Then I got bad news for you

I’ve never had a problem with bloom. I’ve learned to pace my shots, competitive players need to do the same. Adapt.

The whole point of bloom is to force you to pace your shots, so I don’t quite get what you’re saying because this would make paceing your shots basically mandatory.

Well, if a game developer wanted a weapon to fire at a specific rate, the best way to do it would be to implement a fixed rate of fire on that weapon. Like the BR.

Keep it on the automatic weapons, and as far away from my utility weapon as possible.

Pacing your shots is for long range. Spamming your shots is for close-quarters.
Also I just realized how the TU can be taken advantage of.
When you crouch, your bloom is decreased. The bloom is already decreased in the TU.
Now it is so easy to exploit this change.

that would be perfect

Bloom should just get tae.

I get the idea behind it, but all it does is slow down gameplay by forcing you to wait for the reticle to reset.

I would rather just have something along the lines of how the ZB DMR works.

I never played C.E. before but that looks like a pretty good bloom system.

can someone explain in a simple fashion what bloom is and how it works?
