Why is there bloom on my pistol in the Anniversary Classic playlist? The only reason I enjoyed playing this game was due to it actually requiring skill. Now you’ve added bloom and ruined it. Thanks for lowering the skill ceiling again. No wonder no one plays Halo anymore, and this is coming from someone who loves the series. Bloom is absolutely the worst thing ever added to this franchise.
Implemented right bloom can actually increase the skill gap and allow the patient and smarter player win rather then the more aggressive one. It also helps eases up on the aim-assist that all console games require.
No it won’t, because it will always place an artificial limit on how quickly you can kill someone. Not to mention it has the added effect of adding randomness into a skill based game. Further, it increases the time it takes to kill someone, which in a game with recharging health, means that mistakes aren’t punished. It also means that you can’t beat two people, or win against someone with superior position. The problem is that bloom will limit you before skill. I can shoot faster and more accurately, and with zero bloom it shows easily. Now I’m limited to how quickly my reticule responds, not how quickly I can aim.
It has no place in a skill based game, and I absolutely loved playing Anniversary because until recently it played how Halo should play. Now they ruined it by adding a broken mechanic back in.
The CE pistol bloomed if you held down the trigger.

I agree they shouldn’t have bloom in a classic playlist, but I still think bloom is a great idea. It means the smarter people pace their shots when shooting at a distance, and when people with shotguns start running at them, they take at their pistol and spamming in hope the opposition will get killed. Bloom means those who know how to play the game can play it properly and the idiots who can’t spam and most likely get killed
I’m not talking about that. It has bloom even in semi auto now in the classic playlist.
It is bad in a game where health regens, because it means you can’t punish mistakes as you should be able to. It also means that it is harder to control area, and as a side effect makes all the power weapons even more powerful. With no bloom the power weapons are only situational, and that is much better.

and it shouldn’t. they ruined the hopes of many many halo 1 CE fans by adding in a poorly implemented magnumm

It is something they couldn’t remove, if you fire it against a wall semi auto, it will stay inside the original reticule, and not go outside of it, however, if held down, it will act like is blooming to replicate bullet spread.

Exactly this. Since the Pistol has such a large amount of bloom, you’re actually required to pace your shots to land them on your enemy. I think the pistol in the Classic playlists is one of the few times where bloom was implemented properly, since the smart, skillful player will be the one that always wins in a 1v1.
