so we know that halo 4 is going to have recoil instead of bloom.
so what is your opinion on this? is this a good thing?

It’s a good thing. It’s predictable.
Bloom can go die in a ditch. Worst mechanic ever put into Halo.
Good thing.
Recoil, unlike bloom, you can control while firing as fast as possible, which is what players want. The optimal cadence will be how good and quick you can control your recoil. As in, the optimal cadence relies on the player. Bloom does not operate this way.
Bloom can suck it lol.
Bloom was totally random. Recoil you can control and it prevents the BR from destroying at long ranges.
new to the forums and I skipped reach (so sue me…I hate downer ending games and prequels)
WTH is bloom in reach?
Both.Really recoil, but since the DMR’s coming back, they jsut might add some bloom there.
Plus I wouldn’t mind if bloom and/recoil were an option in custom games.
Recoil is much more controllable and less random. Bloom in all honestly can burn in hell. Too many times where I try to pace my shots against a spammer and lost because of it. That should not happen at all, no matter what kind of situation you find yourself in. The player with the best aim and accuracy should always win.
Bloom sucks. Im fine with recoil.
I like recoil. It’s actually realistic and good. I’d take recoil, which I can handle pretty well, over bloom any day.

Bloom is a feature, which sent projectiles to go to random direction, shown as a circle in the crosshair. The longer player kept firing, the larger the circle increased, so the area where the shots went increased.

Play multiplayer demo for REach
or just watch a You tube vid.
Really, when you shoot in Halo REach, there is a downsized amount of recoil in exchange for bloom.Okay, imagine a cursor from youre Battle Rifle.Evertime you shoot, those crosshairs expand(like in other shooting games like Battlefield an d COD).You wait a certain time for the crosshairs to contract so you can have your oringinal corsor agin, or you can keep firing.Everytime you fire, when those crosshairs expand, you have less accuracy. The bullets can go anywhere within the crosshairs.
However for Reach, every weopn has it’s own crosshairs.and they generally all expand(with a few excaptions like the Plasma Rifle and the Spiker. Some Halo3 fans hate bloom because it’s basically unpredicable just where your bullets(or plasma) will land.Take that and add on to the fact that if you really want your gun to be accruate, you have to crouch.
Halo has been had bloom I believe.Example is the Plasma Rifle and Spiker and Halo3.Keep on Firing with that weopn, and the plasma/SPikers are alot accurate anymore. The plsam/Spikers generally land to the outside of your cursor.
It’s just that Reach had alot more bloom and visible bloom.(Excuse any splleing errros please, I had to tyrp this in a hurry)

You can say that is basically bloom in a nutshell, short and simple version.
> WTH is bloom in reach?
Bloom is a mechanic that forces you to slow down your shots to make them more accurate. The problem with this is that you still have a high hit percentage when you don’t pace your shots. So basically the only thing it accomplished was making the outcome of DMR fights really random most of the time. Its an awful mechanic.

agreed
ugh…sounds like a really REALLY bad mechanic…was it in the SP too?
> ugh…sounds like a really REALLY bad mechanic…was it in the SP too?
Obviously. If it’s in SP it HAS to be in MP. I don’t think they can just get rid of it for MP as it’s apart of the game “engine”. All they can do is edit how much bloom there is in multiplayer gametypes.
I do not play MP but…yeah screw bloom
recoil all the way. bloom is the one thing that doesn’t belong in halo, no matter how well they may try to incorporate it.
