Bloom making a return in Halo 4?

I looked up bloom in Halo 4 on Google and all that came up was old threads from around April. Has there been any changes in the bloom system from Halo: Reach? All I got from the post that there was no Bloom in the BR in Halo 4 but there was a slight bit of recoil which made your gun rise up a little after shooting several times in succession. Also they said there was bloom in the DMR but not much and the DMR and BR were both 5 shots to the head and the DMR had a faster firing rate so it was the gun to go with. So is it still the same or has it changed sense E3 and Comicon.

TL;DR: Is there bloom in Halo 4? Old threads from Apr say yes but only in DMR.

There is bloom in some weapons, but not all. I believe the DMR and the AR both have them as well as the new Storm Rifle.

Ok. I’m very happy that bloom isn’t returning in all guns, since at times bloom could get get a little annoying in Reach at long/medium range.

Yeah, there will be bloom on the DMR, the Magnum, and automatic weapons.

This, and the bloom is very small so it won’t affect you that much.

Bloom will be back for only a small number of weapons, but it won’t be as sensitive as it was in Reach.

Like most of the people mentioned already, bloom is making a return on the DMR, Magnum and automatic weapons. but i would imagine it wont be as bad as people complained about it so much in reach but i personally didn’t have a problem with it myself.

From what I understand its a FIXED VERSION OF BLOOM .

Only time will tell

I laughed pretty hard.

OT - I don’t really care. BR ftw

There’s bloom, but it’s hardly noticeable.

i liked bloom. i hope it returns

Bloom should be a part of the game now. Reducing the bloom so that it doesn’t increase at all makes the entire thing redundant and will only make people think there is bloom.

Frankly there should be bloom on (nearly) all weapons at varying degrees based on the weapons strength and rate of fire.

^no

Why yes, Reach is an awesome game. How kind of you to acknowledge that. But what does that have to do with my post?

Yes, I agree Reach is an amazing game. I just don’t think bloom needs to be on nearly every weapon, as was stated in your post. Considering most people seem to have a distaste for bloom. I love the idea of bloom in that it is supposed to reward you for pacing your shots. I just don’t think it worked quite as well as intended in Reach.

Excuse me, I’m going to punch you now.

The only guns that have bloom so far are the DMR and the pistol. The bloom resets WAAAY faster as well.

The storyline was convoluted, messy, and predictable (its plot action not the planet being glassed) the characters were generic and stereotypical, bloom caused lucky shots and nothing but frustration, the Armor Abilities were poorly implemented and did nothing but slow down gameplay, Sprint encouraged herp’aderpin, no bleedthrough was present, Slow movement speed, movement acceleration, and low jump height, overpowered grenades due to bad movement settings, Firefight was turned into an overly customizable novelty experience, all co-op was unplayable because of lag, Forge was way too gray and bland, there were a lot of bugs with the item coordination, and Theater didn’t allow more than one person to view and film.

It’s not a bad game. It’s a bad Halo game.

Of course, this person suggesting bloom is good also believes that people complain about the underpowered nature of the AR “because they don’t know how to use it right”.

Bloom is another way to balance out weapons and add variety. Of course giving bloom to the Rocket Launcher is pointless but it can also change up the game. Like, what if they thought up a new shotgun that had a faster fire rate but had larger bloom for example.

Bloom just didn’t work with the DMR in one-on-one scenarios in Reach. Force multipliers can reduce this problem as well as focus fire, plus there’s plenty of options for people to try out in order to reduce this problem. There are also plenty of options you can tweak that can make spamming a bad decision, like removing headshots unless the bloom has reset, or increasing the size of the bloom to make more shots miss.

But like I said, you alter the bloom rate based on the weapon. The Plasma Repeater doesn’t have much bloom and the PP doesn’t have any.
