Bloom has been in Halo for over 10 years, get over it.

People keep on complaining about Bloom saying that it made Reach bad. They don’t want it in Halo 4. Now from what I can see they’re complaining about the DMRs Bloom, I don’t see anything about AR bloom.
Bloom has been Halo for 10 years now. It seems like putting in the visual bloom into Reach was a bad idea since now people have found something to complain about.
It’s going to be in Halo 4, so get over it.

need proof?

I know but it got ridiculous in Reach though, the Circle in the middle actually moved!!

THIS IS MADNESS!

Even though bloom wasn’t represented visually in the past Halos, it was still there, but to a much lesser degree.

The bloom in Reach is just ridiculous, though, and in the past Halos, it actually worked fairly.

WIll this stop the -Yoinking!-
one can only hope

Also here are probably the best 3 words you can ever give to a bloom hater:
PACE YOUR SHOTS

But
Its the same?
Just test it your self
halo 3 and reach had around the same bloom
reach didn’t even up it. just try it your self (because I cant giv eyou a vid at this time)

Too bad spammers can win more than half the time, though.

And that’s why Reach’s bloom isn’t that great.

When people say “bloom” they’re generally referring to Reach’s fully-controllable spread, which is linked to the fire rate and applied to precision weapons.

Admittedly, my knowledge of the Halo 1 and 2 sandboxes is secondhand. However, I am fairly certain that prior to Halo: Reach, the only precision weapon to have controllable-by-fire-rate spread was Halo 1’s Magnum. If I’m right, then that makes your thread title a misleading exaggeration: Reach-like bloom has been around since the series’ inception, but before Reach it was literally only ever used one time on one precision weapon.

Ironically, pacing is more likely to beat spamming when bloom itself has been reduced across the board.

fire a Halo 2 BR at a wall at any distance, the shots will be perfectly accurate every time. So no Bloom was not on precision weapons. I can agree with you on automatic weapons though

Dont know what to tell ya.
All i know is that i moved from each Halo to the next, playing them for what they were, and i didn’t complain about every little thing, i just enjoyed the game.
I’ve also always shot in bursts, unless im in close quarters, than i spray with my AR (in their general direction).
But yes, i dont see why people are making such a big deal of the bloom in Reach.
I never even knew what bloom was until 343 tried fixing it for people.
It just seems that now that people can see how accurate or innacurate they are, they get all crazy and defenseive, and or offensive towards this bloom.
Oh well, they gotta find something wrong.

CE had a whole different type of bloom than Reach.

Bloom has been in 2 Halos. That’s it.

In CE, bloom only effecting you if you were holding the trigger down.

CE Pistol took more skill than every weapon in Halo. Period.

In Reach, a spammer can kill a pacer at ANY Range. Tell me how that is fair in any shape or form.

Reach tried to copy Shadowrun and failed miserably.

Bloom and AA destroyed the Halo population. Why would you want that back?

you can blame Sage for making Reach like Shadowrun.

You forgot to add that Bloom has been optional or non-existent on Utility weapons for 10 years.

(Spread doesnt count, although it sucks too)

> you can blame Sage for making Reach like Shadowrun.

If, somehow, his name makes it onto the Halo 4 game box, I’m returning the game immediately.

Who do you blame more? the people who hired him or the person who got hired?

Okay, so where is the proof video for Halo 2 and 3?

Plus, Reach’s bloom was over dramatized compared to CE. CE didn’t have weapons like the DMR.

It doesn’t matter if certain types of bloom was or wasn’t in other Halo games. People are generally saying “No Bloom in Halo 4.” They said that it ruined Reach. I bet that if there was no visual bloom and it was shortened a bit that there wouldn’t be any haters.
I don’t see how it ruined Reach anyway. I see about 140,000 players online every other day or so. I saw this back in Halo 3’s prime.

it was 90,000 before CE:A

Shouldn’t more people be playing a newer game than a 5 year old one?

Bloom didn’t ruin Reach singlehandedly, but it was part of one of the two design philosophies that did ruin Reach: “Appeal to casuals by appealing to the unskilled”, and “Revive my past failed game project, Shadowrun”.

And if bloom was implemented but not visually indicated, then people would think that the netcode is unreliable.

> Shouldn’t more people be playing a newer game than a 5 year old one?

idk I still play Turok and Sonic Adventure 2 Battle.

Anyway people complain too damn much. Also there’s been “competition” lately with games like Battlefield 3, Gears of War 3, and Modern Warfare 3. People are going to leave for that. Also with Mass Effect 3 coming out, the population is probably going to go down a bit more.
Shortly before Halo 4 comes out I’m sure the population will go up, especially if Reach has a Halo 4 beta.
