Yes, i understand that 343i didnt want to remake halo maps that were already playable on the xbox 360. but if their real mission was to make Halo CEA for the hardcore Halo Fans, then why not remake the Real Blood Gulch, not halo reach’s poor excuse for it. In my opinion, if they could remake the Dirt Ridden, Open Canyon map that is Blood Gulch, alot of true Halo Fans will return and purchase CEA for multiplayer, not only the legendary campaign. but most halo fans who ever played Halo CE want the original Blood Gulch back as well. I feel like if Halo CEA is a game for the fans, then they shouldve made polls and let the Fans choose which maps shouldve been remade for MM
honestly, there was nothing special about blood gulch, it literally is a giant open area with almost 0 cover.
the only good thing about it was vehicle combat but even then, not that good of a map.
i disagree. it was more then an open canyon. it was your first true Halo Experience. i loved it, and too this day i still love it. i will go onto custom games on halo ce for the xbox and kick my sisters bf and my brothers -Yoink-’ on split screen. i will still go onto halo ce for the pc and destroy people on that map. it is the quintessential map. i still remember my first time playing halo, looking up and out into that open canyon. nothing feels better then ur first halo experience on blood gulch, and all true Halo fans will agree with me 100%

so i’m not a true fan even though i’ve been playing halo since combat evolved?
i had the same experience as you are describing but when i look back at the map now all i see is a giant open area with little cover and no flow, the only decent thing about the map that i can think of is vehicle warfare but even then, it isn’t that great of a map overall.
im not saying u arent a true halo fan. im saying that it is by far the fans favorite map, so it makes no sence to not remake it and put it into the anniversary

it was remade, it’s called hemorrhage.
but you cant play it in Halo CEA ! and to me it didnt really feel like Blood Gulch (it wasnt completly closed) plus i wasnt really a fan of forge world

source, please?
i dont need a source, i know it is. butt
“Blood Gulch is easily the most famous multiplayer level from the original Halo”
lol, really? you don’t need a source? sorry, your opinion doesn’t mean squat when you’re talking in absolutes. source, or it isn’t true.
and “most famous” in no way means it’s “by far the fan’s favorite,” that some seriously flawed logic.
oh and it’s definitely not my favorite.

And that vehicle combat is know dead, thanks to whiners about the tank, armor lock, and the biggest problem, the DMR.

halo CEA multiplayer is reach’s multiplayer so guess what, you’ve already been playing it.
Really…? Another thread complaining about Blood Gulch not being in CE:A?
The reasons are clear and logical of why BG isn’t in CE:A, however I know a lot of the community wanted it, I did too. But the fact remains: it’s not in CE:A, it will never be in CE:A, and there’s nothing we can do about it. Just except it and move on.
I’d be fine with them just editing Hemorrhage through Forge to be more like the original. All of the Anniversary maps are getting classic versions anyway. Why not Hemorrhage?
I personally like Hemorrhage over Blood Gulch. And I’m not a fan of Hemorrhage. Most of the time it ends up with one team sitting in their base while the other team bombs the crap out of it with every vehicle in the game. So no, it is most certainly not my favorite!
> BLOOD GULCH WAS THE QUINTESSENTIAL HALO MAP!
In CE. In Reach, it is a broken mess. The DMR range discourages movement on foot, and Reach’s vehicles are fragile, braking vehicular combat, meaning both teams just stay in the base, with one person sniping anyone who tries to move. It is nostalgia, rather than anything else that makes this map good in some peoples eyes.

My first experience was Battle Creek on PC. BG is just not a good map for really anything. It is too vehicle-reliant and snipers can pick you off from anywhere.
I never thought this before but I just hate Blood Gulch thanks to Reachs “great” hemorrhage map.

Pretty much all of this is just as true in Halo 1. The Pistol had even greater range than the DMR, and was more powerful. Vehicles were easy to kill: the tank was a screaming metal death trap with the open cockpit and Warthogs were vulnerable to grenades. Ghosts were the most powerful vehicle with their freezing bolts of death.
Actually, what made Blood Gulch work was the range and power of the pistol. It allowed a back-and-forth battle over the midfield of the map, and whoever controlled that would send in vehicle sorties to punch through the defenses and escape with the flag (remember you could drive vehicles with the flag in Halo 1). Also, indestructible vehicles were a huge part of how Blood Gulch CTF was played, since once you killed a vehicle you got it, rather than it exploding and the enemy getting it back a few minutes later. This allowed you to stockpile vehicles for a massive push, at risk of having a single enemy sneak through and use them to escape with your flag.
Halo 1’s unique combination of design factors is what made Blood Gulch work. It hasn’t worked as well in subsequent games because everything is different. Bringing back an “exact” port of Blood Gulch will not make it work any better than Hemorrhage does. Valhalla is the modern version that works with today’s mechanics.
Also, Blood Gulch was definitely the most popular map in Halo 1. I remember seeing a list of the most downloaded demos of computer games, and the Halo PC demo was on that list something like 7 years after it’s release. The only map included in the Halo PC demo is Blood Gulch. Also, from what I understand, games on the Halo PC servers that aren’t CTF on Blood Gulch are few and far between.
Some people are so ungrateful.
