BLOOD: another step backwards in Halo

MAIN EDIT: I just want this.

EDIT: Title changed from “GORE: ANOTHER STEP BACKWARDS IN HALO” to **"**BLOOD: ANOTHER STEP BACKWARDS IN HALO"

IMPORTANT EDIT: I am not speaking directly about the rating, I don’t care about it, I’m italian and here it’s always been PEGI 16. the problem of wich I’m speaking on this thread with Halo 5 is that it actually lacks of blood! I don’t want anything like Doom or Gears of War, but when I shoot aliens I want to see blood! I spoke about rating because they’re removing blood - or immensively decreasing it - to get the T rating in USA.

EDIT 2: I don’t mean the blood on the floor, I mean the effect of bleed when every projectile hits an unshielded enemy.

I just watched this video about “Why Microsoft doesn’t want the Flood to return”.

It basically says:

  • Microsoft is aiming to make Halo rated T for TEEN - Gore/Blood is bad for that - The Flood is pure gore - Bye bye FloodThat SUCKS

Halo has blood and a little gore since Halo CE!

to 343 and Microsoft: you had most of us as FANS FOR LIFE! Do not change what isn’t broken!

Bring back Halo style blood and gore in Halo 6.

Changing market will only ensure that old fans will leave the franchise for good because it is becoming something else! -yoink!-

EDIT 3: I know it is not the main problem of the game, but since I always considered every Halo game pre-Halo 4 perfect I want this franchise to come back to that, and every detail is important! Blood must be there to make you feel you are at war! Halo is a military sci-fi shooter, not a power ranger sci-fi s**t!

as long as the flood never come back…idc if they add blood/gore again

That seems a massive jump in flawed logic. I highly doubt MS forced 343 to make Halo 5 a Teen rating, forcing MT yea I buy that but MS knows people will buy Halo no matter the age rating. Also id argue that MS allowed 343 to make the most horrifying scene in Halo with the composer scene so why would they suddenly pull a total 180 ?

Add in the fact that Halo has always been a 16 (i.e. T) in Europe and its starting to seem that the ESRB has finally worked out that Halo is tame in comparison to the GTA’s and DOOM’s of the world and never deserved its M rating.

Gotta be sure you touch your toes in all the available pools of water.

With the way it is being set up I don’t know how they can’t bring back the Flood…but then again we’ve had the rug pulled out from under us before.

Honestly I didn’t think the Flood would return in Halo 5. The time doesn’t feel right. Now, I do think the Legendary ending could’ve featured them but the overall campaign would not have featured them regardless.

Halo 5 was more aimed towards competitive multiplayer and HCS. They wanted to give people of lower age a chance to win the prizes. Thus, one of the reasons why Halo 5 is rated T.

With the Halo Ring it’s a major possibility.

  • Halo CE(A) - Blood and Gore, Violence - Halo 2 - Blood and Gore, Language, Violence - Halo 3 - Blood and Gore, Mild Language, Violence - Halo 3: ODST - Blood, Language, Violence - Halo Reach - Blood, Violence - Halo 4 - Blood, Violence - Halo 5, the only T rated game - Blood, Mild Language, ViolenceNotice anything?

  • Only Halo CE - 3 are rated for having Gore, why? Because of the Flood. - Halo CE isn’t even rated for language, neither is Halo 4 despite Cortana calling a scientist a -Yoink-. Halo 3 is also marked for mild language.People take this Rated M/T this way too seriously.

I am not speaking about the rating, I don’t care about it, I’m italian and here it’s always been PEGI 16. the real problem with Halo 5 is that it actually lacks of blood! I don’t want anything like Doom or Gears of War, but when I shoot aliens I want to see blood!

The older games were hardly big on gore to begin with.

You mean the unrealistic florescent blue blood that’s been decreasing since Halo 2?

Halo 5 not enough blood omigod childhood ruined forever rip

I do too, there was a comment earlier in the thread that MS know we’ll buy Halo regardless of age rating. I won’t, I was angry when I discovered the game did not have blood and gore, I like it in games. Halo has always had blood, most of the gamers I know that play Halo are adults, they’ve grown up with Halo, so why the change ? There’s nothing wrong with progress, but when it comes at the cost of removing things we love about Halo, it’s a problem. I’ve written that before.

If 04 and 05 have taught us anything, then yes we will most likely see Flood on whatever Halo ring was shown at the end of 5. The Flood simply had no part of the story in Halo 4 and Halo 5. They weren’t needed in those games. But Halo 6? We could easily see them return in some capacity whether it’s a new Gravemind on the Halo ring like what happened on 05 or something else like a stronger Flood presence just happens to enter the galaxy and begins to combat the Created creating a four way war between the UNSC and it’s allies, the Covenant Remnant, Created, and Flood. There’s a lot of factors that support the the Flood returning in a future Halo game.

Yes! I want THAT. And it is there in Halo 3, Halo 3 ODST, Halo Reach and Halo 4. And also in multiplayer! When a spartan has no shield and you shoot at him he bleeds! Watch this video, it has a low resolution but you can see it without problems when the guy on the bottom shoots with the AR.

I don’t mean the one on the floor, I mean the one that comes out of the enemies body dude, there is almost no effect for that.

I didn’t say “blood wasn’t there”. I said “blood was decreasing since Halo 2.” If you wanted a lot of blood, you should look at Halo CE, but you can clearly tell we have never went back to CE’s level of blood, level alone a general obscene amount of blood to begin with.

I mean if you want the bare minimum, there are assassinations in Halo 5 that show blood.

every projectile must spit blood out of enemies.

Well that’s an expectation you require, but not everyone does.

There’s so much wrong with Halo 5 but you think this is the “real problem”?
