Today, after trying to upload an MLG Slayer game on the map Element to my fileshare, it said that my custom description was blocked and would not allow me to upload. This puzzled me as there were no inappropriate words in it. I know that the words “Assault” or “Bomb” are not allowed, which is stupid given that the game itself labels files with those words, but neither of those words were in my name or description. I soon realized after removing the word “Element” from the description, it allowed me to upload the game to my file share.
Element? Really? Is it the periodic table that’s offensive to Microsoft or is this just another random thing they found a way to screw up?
I haven’t played Reach in a little while, esp changing anything in my Flie Share. Now when I try to upload something to my File Share it gives me an error message stating “The creator of this content is not allowed on Xbox Live.” I’ve tried searching Microsoft, xbox.com, and here as well as Bungie and haven’t been able to find any info on this.
I’m 100% certain I have no issues with being allowed on Live, and every other feature of my Gold membership is working fine, so this leads me to believe its a problem within Reach and not Live. Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I have had the gamertag Fall of Reach for 9 years now, starting the day Halo 2 was released. Recently the word FALL has been banned from everything that has to do with Halo games. I can not upload anything to my file share, I can’t have my service tag as Fall like it was before, also nothing can be tagged with the word FALL. Can you please fix this obvious error that has ruined my halo experince lately? Thank you so much if you do it would mean the world to me. If you don’t can some one tell me how FALL is a bad word or why ban it at all? I also heard from others I know, there have been other words banned from halo for no ryme or reason. It just seems to be a big mistery to me. Help me Please.
Actually it’s be banned from use for anything related to Xbox LIVE, try putting it in your Xbox LIVE Motto.
Something is up with the censor on Microsoft’s part, there is no way to fix it other than waiting it out and see if they notice it because ringing phone support is about as useful as talking to a wall asking it for a home to live in.
343i can’t do anything about it.
The only solution as of now is to change your gamertag which isn’t an option for most people.
Well ya I have no interest in changing my gammer tag 9 years of the tag Fall of Reach shows alot of dedication to Halo. It would help so much if some one that works for 343 at least put in a word for me you guys have a little more clout than I do, plus its stait from your own game/book (Fall) as in The Fall of Reach. I don’t know what to do I currently forged a new map for Reach of 3 teams (5v5v5) set up for neatral flag and I cant share this with the community. Its a shame its a really good map I was also planing on making more maps because I pumped the last one out in less than a day. I showed it to a handfull of guys and they all loved it. I think it would be nice if game creators could stand up for gamers in there community to make there games more pleasurable for everyone.

Yup of corse this would happen, I posted on the xbox forums about my problem and they tell my its a 343 problem. I also learned that the word DAVE is banned from xbox Live as someone els named (MY Wife DAVE xL) is also banned posted on the xbox forums there. MY Wife DAVE xL also said; I decided to buy bungie pro so i could render a few videos. I purchase it, and then go to upload a video to my fileshare, and it tells me “file share name blocked, the name is not allowed on xbox live”. Now guess what Xbox tells us its 343’s problem? Instead of pointing fingers i wish some one would do something to fix this bug.

Hello there. It seems I have some issue with my halo reach file share. The other day i deleted one file in my file share to make room for the new file. I try to add that file and it says “Name is Blocked” “Name of file creator is not allowed on xbox live”. huh? I am on live right now and fact there was stuff already in my share proves I should be able to do this. I did a custom search and downloaded a file from a friend and I was able to add that to my Reach file share but I can’t add any file made by me to my file share. I can’t add anything to my file share made by me: El Matador 1584. I talked to a guy I met on Reach who is El Matdor 702 and he is having the same problem. Whats going on? When did the name el matador become bad? I have added stuff to my fileshare before with no issue so why the sudden change?. I can play on live on reach but can’t add anything to my file share made by me at this moment. Can anyone help me or point me to someone that can help me?
Don’t worry, it’s not just you. There have been several other people who have reported the same, or similar issues. It appears the censor system has gotten a bit out of focus.
