Whats a good way to play Commander Jerome and what deck should i use?
-
Starting Army: Spartan + Jackrabbit
-
Try to get the first 3 Energy Drops; AT LEAST the one on your side and then the 3. drop at 11.10, either on Top A or Top C.
-
STEAL the most valuable enemy vehicle with your Spartan, 90% of the players still spawn high value vehicles even with a Spartan on the field; escape end re-do it again. This gives you a nice energy kickback.
-
MIDGAME: I am a Mastodon fan + Nightingales. Put Jeromes Snipers & Cyclops in it. They will deal well against the main counter vs. the Mastodons: Cyclops & Hunters.
A more passive way to play: Instead if moving around with your army you can also go for the Spartan Morale & Turret Drop; with that you can easily hold choke points & the ridges.
- Jerome is an “OK” leader in 2v2s and a bad pick in 1v1s. Look up the leaderboards, there will you see a very specific pick of leaders: Shipmaster, Colony, Atriox, Kinsano, Cutter and Voridus.

Just gonna daisy chain off this.
Here’s what my Jerome deck looks like;
Hellbringers (can be swapped for Marines)
Jackrabbit
Cyclops
Wolverine
Spartan Moral
Mastadon
Sniper
Nightingale
Vanguard Wolverine
Veteraran Cyclops
Victory Turret
Condor (can be swapped out for Omega Team)
I pretty well do exactly what Tyrell said, and it’s reasonably effective. For my first Mastadon, I use a Sniper, Hellbringer, and Cyclops. Pretty well rounded and deals with most threats. For my second Mastadon I do the same, but try to get the Veteran Cyclops; it’s always nice to have one Veteran Cyclops, as it has Shock Rounds, which slows vehicles. This is good for killing AA that targets your Gales.
Turret + Spartan Moral is muuuuuch better in 2’s or 3’s, but it works in 1’s. Keep in mind, though, that is expensive. Also, try to only use it when contesting a zone or in a choke because most players will simply walk away from it, leaving you with wasted energy.
Condor/Omega Team is really only used when you’re a head in energy and want to keep that leader. Omega Team is reasonably strong and denies vehicles very well, while the Condor can fight entire armies. These cards are necessary, but don’t hurt to have around.
Everything else is pretty self explanatory.
Pro tip:
Omega team can jump into friendly vehicles as well. If an enemy is using large infantry force, but your starting spartan ends up being Leon (his intended use is to fight large units, he really struggles against infantry rushes), get him into your vehicle. I keep a Scorpion in my Jerome deck just for that purpose.
