Blaze of Glory vs. Oathsworn: Which is better?

So there has been a lot of talk going on about whether or not the Blaze of Glory is more powerful than the Oathsworn. I haven’t seen anyone decide to see if this is true or not, so I decided to test it myself since they came out in Forge with Anvil’s Legacy.

Here are the results:

Blaze of Glory:
Red Reticule range (No Smart-Link): Approx. 14 meters
Red Reticule range (Smart-Link): Approx. 25 meters
Kill range (No Smart-Link): Approx. 14 meters
Kill range (Smart-Link): Approx. 20 meters
Hitmarker range (No Smart-Link): Approx. 31 meters
Hitmarker range (Smart-Link): Approx. 77 meters

Oathsworn:
Red Reticule range (No Smart-Link): Approx. 7 meters
Red Reticule range (Smart-Link): Approx. 9 meters
Kill range (No Smart-Link): Approx. 9 meters
Kill range (Smart-Link): Approx. 13 meters
Hitmarker range (No Smart-Link): Approx. 20 meters
Hitmarker range (Smart-Link): Approx. 61 meters

So as you can see, the Blaze of Glory is far better than the Oathsworn. And being a Mythic weapon, I would expect more out of this. So what are your thoughts on this? Should the Oathsworn get a major buff? Should the Blaze of Glory get a major nerf?

Oathsworn has speed boost? that could prove very deadly. I’ve never seen somebody with a shotgun and speed boost.

That’s true, one of my thoughts was that the intention was to do a slide boost shoot type thing.

It doesn’t do as much as you would think. Having the Blaze of Glory with twice the range is a pretty big jump.

Blaze of glory will always be better to me, no matter what everyone else says

I’d take a Blaze of Glory any day over an Oathsworn. I still remember killing a Banshee that was one shot from it looked like a hundred feet away with a BoG several months ago.

Blaze of Glory is absolutely insane. Don’t forget it’s a Rare REQ so quite common. Also the Forerunner mechanism increases vehicle damage, so if a Warthog tries to splatter Spartans in your armory, kick his -Yoink-.

Yeah I hate to admit it, but the Blaze is a better weapon. The Oath’s got it’s permanent speed boost going for it, and that’s very deadly if you add more power-ups to it (basically one power-up is two with this gun). But yeah overall the Blaze is simply superior and pretty overpowered (and everyone likes it that way)

That would make sense because its wielder, Kelly is known for her record breaking top speed ever reached by one Spartan. Although it could use an extra clip or more damage defiantly.

The Oathsworn should get a major buff like having more range at least. Its a modified Shotgun made by Kelly. It should have that.

Oathsworn should definitely get a buff. I would have thought that the Oathsworn would easily be better than the Blaze of Glory, but obviously not with range. However, I believe with the speed boost on the Oathsworn you also get increased reload speed.
Also does anyone know the stats for the rate of fire between the two shotguns?
I get the feeling that if the range is significantly less, on the Oathsworn, then all the other stats might be heaps better.

Blaze of Glory for me. Don’t forget that the Blaze of Glory reloads in one shell too. Pretty op if you ask me.

Blaze of Glory is better imo. The Blaze of Glory also reloads with a single shell so has a much faster reload speed overall. The speed boost of the Oathsworn is nice but it only takes one more Req level to have a Blaze of Glory and a speed boost at the same time.

I think they should buff the Oathsworn rather than nerf the Blaze though, running around with the Blaze of Glory is one of the most fun things to do in warzone and when you put on an overshield or camo you feel like a god.
