Blaze of Glory kill range

Bet the first thought anyone may have when they see the title is “yea, it’s a sniper rifle with spread”

The range to do damage is totally fine when it comes to fighting vehicles, but I am not too keen on being able to die or kill someone from across an armory room by a “close-quarters” weapon. I know if you were to lower the kill range alone that it would make it less effective against vehicles, but couldn’t you just increase the bonus damage to vehicles by a touch and lower normal damage? It takes forever to kill even a ghost with it anyway, but less than trivial to kill a Spartan in one shot from a great distance. Maybe the rarity or req cost could be increased by one stage for balance too.

OP I think you could have included this in your other post about the banshees. I’m confused about what your problem is with the weapon, could you be more specific?

My issue is a shotgun that can 1 shot someone from more than 10 meters away. (all the while taking forever to kill vehicles)

This post seperates itself from Banshees as this is a power weapon and the other a vehicle issue.

He’s saying that he doesn’t like that it has a long kill range against Spartans and wants it decreased.

OP, vehicles have more armor than Spartans so not sure why you think it should kill vehicles faster just because it kills Spartans fast.

Ah I see. I guess I’ve never considered a shotgun an anti-vehicle weapon.

It’s a higher req level shotgun. Shotguns are supposed to be more effective on people than vehicles.

Think of things this way: the standard Shotgun and Lawgiver shoot normal buckshot rounds. The Blaze of Glory shoots a single slug, hence the increase in range.

Not faster, just at least less than a clip to kill a ghost, so much base damage, and then Kinetic Bolts are supposed to add like 15% MORE damage, but it doesn’t look like it is much more effective than the Lawgiver at killing vehicles

Blaze has Kinetic tho

Yes but if you read the in game description it says for an anti vehicle effect… Effect doesn’t necessarily mean it’s really effective on vehicles.

As LethalQ said, Its mostly meant against enemy Spartans than vehicles. If you however want to take out a ghost its pretty much a waste of ammo, not to mention that blaze is very good at one shot kill from a fair long range. While I understand that it has Kinetic, its more reliable on Spartans.

Ok, fair enough. What I suppose I meant more though is not how it fares against vehicles (which through forge testing and more practical use today i learned you can take out a ghost with a single clip easily) but how ridiculous it is with how powerful that the Blaze is, why do Oathsworn (or Dying Star/Heartseeker) cost more than Blaze?
