Blame the fans for the state of this franchise

I feel like you like different things about the campaigns then, because, from a story perspective, the majority of players regard Halo 5 to be the worst, both in terms of story beats and overall additions to the narrative, with Halo 4 being a close second.

Personally, I really enjoyed 4 (but I had read the books beforehand) and absolutely abhorred 5.

Lets not forget that some of the most vocal people on this front might also be the ones perpetuating the venomous microtransaction scheme that they started in this game.

Yeah the only people i have ever heard who like H4 talk about the books. Problem is that book Chief and Game Chief are basically 2 different people. This is a huge problem with telling a story over multiple mediums. Now you have 2 sets of fans who believe different things about the same person. H4 changed the game Chief way too much and i just can not forgive it for that. H5 had a bad story but at least i had more fun fighting the prometheans in it. H4 prometheans are nothing but bullet sponges.

I mean to an extent youre not wrong, but there are so many Halo content creators on youtube giving 343 free brainstorming sessions constantly. Of course thats an infinitesimally small portion of the whole population, but its still feedback that is extremely constructive and worth listening to

They really do enhance the experience, and I absolutely cannot imagine knowing what to do with the plot of Halo 4 without all the context they provide.

I think they’re plenty bad in both games and the worst additions to the franchise yet, their cool lore aside.

Yeah ill give them the cool lore part i guess but very poor execution. Either way i think the OP comepletly misunderstood H4 and H5 complaints.

IMHO blaming the users for the state of the Halo Franchise is
JUST WRONG!!! AND IT’S BS! PERIOD!

  1. Halo Infinite user’s did not Design The Halo Infinite Game.
  2. Halo Infinite user’s did not develop the game.
  3. Halo Infinite user’s did not screw up the Custom Game area.
  4. Halo Infinite user’s did not decide to drop multiplayer Co-OP from the game.
  5. Halo Infinite user’s did no decide to have Season 3 held back till March 8, 2023
  6. Halo Infinite user’s did not decide to release Forge beta till Nov. 2022.
  7. Halo Infinite user’s do not fix issues with game.
  8. Halo Infinite user’s did not decide to drop the split-screen from the game.
  9. Halo Infinite user’s did not decide when the Custom Game Browser was going to be released.
  10. Halo Infinite user’s are not the ones who decided not to fix Desync.

Halo Infinite user’s are not to blame for the issues that are in this game. If the Halo Infinite user’s don’t state issues and or problems then the issues will “NEVER” will get fixed.

There are only two companies to blame for the issues with this Halo Infinite Game.

  1. Microsoft
  2. 343i

It is what it is. PERIOD!

Peace! :fist_right: :fist_left:

In the end, It’s 343 that decides on what to implement in their games. It ain’t the fans fault that 343 can’t make up their mind and just go with whatever idea is shouted loudest.

Yeah, no.
Theyve repeatedly screwed us over.
Im tired of writing long responses that ultimately come to nothing.
You have mistaken ideas about 343

its clearly the overseers of the franchise they literally went above and beyond pushing the limits and putting absolute dedication to maximize income for halo in every way possible with an absolute passion for money, without care or focus on the quality of the game or any care for the community.

they focused on maximizing income with a ruthless passion.

When this game released it felt like they hired ruthless scalpers to monetize and oversee the game

To cash in on mtx, season passes etc
When forge launches next year, do you seriously believe it will be free? Or pve?
Maybe they wont charge for a custom browser, but 343 will hold off dropping or not be able to make core gameplay features that came with previous halo games, then charge for them.
Theater is still broken, no stats, no forge, all kinds of multiple campaign issues.
2 years after the game was supposed to launch
The u.i. doesnt support slayer, etc.
343 needs management change.
And they need to fufill ttheir promise with watchdog.
Just for watchdog, on principle, i cant buy another 343 game
Oh…desync too…

Big L post right here. A wall of nothing.

The fanbase has absolutely made mis-steps but don’t act like we’re to blame for all this.

Were they listening when fans begged for co op matchmaking, co op split screen, forge at launch, classic gameplay? The only thing I think they listened to was classic artstyle return.

Bungie just said they will communicate less with players due to toxicity. So no.

Yes, I’m pretty sure they were as they are still common topics between 343 and players.

Let’s not forget that Bungie was also constantly under fire when they were developing Halo. I couldn’t believe it when I heard that “fans” put together a website to hate on a game that they supposedly love, and devs weren’t the only ones being attacked either. As a fan, if you liked any of the games or aspects of them, you were also attacked. You were even attacked if you liked the TV show, even though they said prior to release that they were making an alternate timeline separate from the games. This behavior is just flat out insane and creates a negative stigma around the franchise that scares people away. You just can’t work with a fanbase that gatekeeps this hard.

I can’t blame 343 for the state of this franchise because I loved their first entry and never got the chance to see them progress the franchise going in that same direction. H5’s campaign and multiplayer went in a different direction than H4, same with H5 to H:I. Until then, it will always be the fans’ fault for the downfall of Halo.

Yes, it’s the fans fault 343 couldn’t create a decent live service game with 7 years of development time and the largest software company in the world footing the bill. With several very successful business models to emulate (Fortnight, Apex, Warzone, etc.) With years of fan input since H4 saying please do this, not that. With Bungie holding their hand to guide them into the drivers seat when Reach was being developed. With novel after novel after novel of reference material, including comics, short films, live-action promotions, and audio adventures to draw on for inspiration about where the story could go.

The fans are pissed and rightfully so, and this may be the time where they finally flip the iceberg and let 343 know they won’t take it anymore.

The fans are sick and tired of being mislead and lied to, to only be told to wait longer. How long has it been since Halo 5? And this is what 343 has to show for that amount of time?
