In no way is halo racist, Who couldn’t agree that the black people we’ve seen so far haven’t been badass. (even romeo was in the comics more than in ODST)
Us black folks( Even though i’m just half lol) are looking up to Locke being one of the badass blacks in the Halo history

While this state of mind is admirable in a perfect world, unfortunately there are still issues people face because of the color of their skin, including the lack of representation. Disregarding race is disregarding those issues.

Emile tried to be badass, but he came off as a joke to me. Look at his death; killed a single elite and got so excited, so proud of such a minor accomplishment that he got too caught up trash-talking it to realize there was another one right behind him. That’s kind of like trying to cross the street, having a near-miss, and then being so busy giving that driver the finger that you get ran over by a bus.
There has been a few decent black Spartans. I count Johnson due to him being a Spartan I. Emile was funny and I’m sure Hoya would have been interesting if he had more than 3 secs of screentime.
If you go onto female Spartans however… we just get Palmer

Avery Johnson (and to that extent - Al Apone in Aliens) are based on a stereotype. I think that’s what Lupin is thinking of.

Kat in Reach. Linda and Kelly seem to be heading for an appearance in Halo 5. Grant in Spartan Ops. Plus in other media there’s also Naomi, Maria, Daisy, Cal, Margaret, Roma, Ray, Alice, Lucy, Holly, Olivia and Adrianna. I’m probably missing some. They’re definitely still underrepresented, and not given anywhere near as much attention as their male counterparts, but there are some good characters in that list.
Im preaty sure race had 0 to do with who was chosen to be a spartan 1-4
Id think that “race” is non existant in the halo universe as there is but 1 race of humans the others races being the varrious covenant.
The word your looking for is ethnicity. Locke isnt the only black guy spartan. Emile, remember him?
