Every couple of games when I’m playing Team Slayer, the screen goes black for a few seconds, then the list of players appears and after a few more seconds the match reloads. Originally I assumed that this was just due to someone disconnecting, but I’ve noticed something rather frustrating - almost every time this happens, I come back dead and the opposing team has 20-40 more points. I’m not sure what is going on, but it’s quite ridiculous. I’ve lost some close matches because of the screen going black and the enemy team scoring a handful of kills. Is it just something with my router, or a problem with server lag, or something else?

I have experienced this also if im not mistaken its called standbying > the other team wouldn’t see the blackscreen only you and your team which afk’s you and your team so the run over kill you and your team to gain a few points > and yes it’s cheating
I’m getting it a lot too.
I’ve checked my ping and internet speed, and both are fine. I find it happens mainly in team games, and is starting to ruin my experience as its becoming so frequent. If everyone goes to black screen, fine, but when I’m on a killing spree, just called in an ordnance drop etc, then come back and find I’ve apparently been killed by someone, it’s frustrating.
Well, I suppose it’s good to hear that I’m not the only one, means it’s not a problem on my hand. On the other hand, it’s frustrating that this sort of thing is still around…I’m pretty sure this happened back when I was playing Halo 2 multiplayer. Hopefully 343i has a fix for this.

Had it multiple times again last night. Pretty sure it is indeed standbying - several times when our team took a wraith, a sniper, etc, and were about to kill someone with it, we got the black screen, then came back to find the other team had taken them.
Reminds me of the old days of Halo 2, and standbying in CTF on Zanzibar. x.x
I made the same topic before and no one commented on it so I thought it was just me. Glad to see it isnt.
Just another reason why online multiplayer has gone down the -Yoink-. People will do whatever it takes to get a extra win or kill which ruins the experience for the rest of us.
I am also experiencing this issue and am becoming increasingly frustrated.
Today it was really bad. The game would go for about 30 seconds then black screen, back to game for 30 seconds, then black screen, over and over again.
In one game I was frozen at the loading screen. I could see people playing and the score was going up but I couldn’t load.
