Hi all,
As you all know, when the host changes, the game goes to this black screen that shows a list of all the players, and in the bottom left corner it’ll say “selecting new host with best connection” or just “connecting”.
The thing is though, on occasion, one or more of my friends will have this screen pop up while the others are still able to play. It won’t ever say “selecting new host”, just “connecting”. This person won’t be able to play during this screen and will be walking into a wall in the perspective of other players (and consequently will be dead when they return to the game) This doesn’t usually happen to me, but it happens tons to a friend of mine, he’ll always say “are you guys black screen?” and we won’t be.
I gather that this must happen to people whose connections aren’t as great as the other players in the game, but my mate and I both have similar internet plans so I don’t really know what’s different. I haven’t even played around with my router settings while he has done some port forwarding which has barely helped.
So the question is, what causes this less common black screen? Can anyone with some technical know-how explain this and give suggestions on how to prevent it from happening?
