Now, incase someone else encounters this problem.
When you first start the game it’ll prompt you to download new game configurations, which you have to do.
After the download is finished the game will have to restart.
For me, everything went as normal until the Creative Assembly logo faded out and the menu music started playing, and there was a black screen.
My “solution”?
Coming on here to write about the issue, only to write the post completely, looking at my TV screen and seeing the main menu.
Apparently it takes time to load so my solution is “wait for a long time”.
Other than that I don’t know.
Mine freezes up right after pressing start at the title screen as well. Been waiting over 10 minutes so far, still nothing. How long did you have to wait?
Mine froze at the Halo Wars 2 logo (and press B to skip) screen for about 1-2 mins then it started playing the tutorial video so I think you just need to wait a bit.
Installed. Loads of freezing and black screens. Uninstalled. I know it’s a beta but come on get at least the menus right. We should be looking for game play issues and not menu issues as soon as you start it up.
anyone else got this bug while halo wars 2 sceen is fading right after choosing wich xbox account you wanna use? so cant do much more but after like 30 min xbox tell me the game take too much time to start up and and it gonna be close but only if on xbox home screen, i dont even reach the skip with B option dont go far enough
Ive got the same problem with black screen, I just keep restarting the game or waiting through the tutorial video for a bit and it works sometimes, ive been able to play 3 matches.
Ok i just tried something, when it gets to the main menu where it tells u to press start, just wait about a minute or so and the game should catch up to itself and load fine, you can skip the tutorial video no problem and get to the gameplay

On the title, wait a while, until the camera zooms in twice. Press start then mash B 6 times really fast to skip the tutorial asap. That should work, not always but after a couple goes.
