I’d like to think one is coming for Halo 4 but I don’t think is going to save the game. Maybe they can bring back descoping or something but if after a 3 year dev cycle this is the best they can do, why should anyone hold out hope that a quick patch will fix anything?
I was skeptical about Halo 4 knowing that Bungie wasn’t the dev this go round. Then I read the reviews from IGN and thought all was safe. Well you got me and a ton of others to buy the game with those reviews and now the disappointment is apparent……I haven’t played too much of the Campaign and if the reviews were based solely on that I might look the other way but the MP is subpar for a Halo game and we are stuck with it. I’ll play it some. But just not near as much as previous Halo games and the online pop drops reflect that others feel the same. Don’t tell me it’s exams or wait til Xmas. COD still has huge numbers online (what they don’t take exams too?). I’ve got every Halo and every COD that has come out and always found time for both but more recently I had been going back to Reach because COD got stale. Now it looks like I’ll be playing less of both
Black Ops 2 had a patch release to fix bugs, not change gameplay mechanics as everybody here is calling for. Those are opinions. Black Ops had problems that actually needed to be fixed.
Patches on the 360 cost 40,000 bucks (less if they suck up to Microsoft) regardless of the size. Developers, even those who would love to patch their game and keep their fans happy, are hesitant to spend that much money, that for all intents and purposes, is just a waste of money.
The only real solution is to address the problem with Microsoft and either to get them to get rid of that stupid policy or to ease up on it and allow more room for developers to patch their game.

Super sprint nade throw - patched already
Players jumping into walls in war games - patched
Kill cams… Work in progress
Join in Progress - patch coming Monday
Button glitch allowing players to skip the overheating/cool down phase of boltshot… Work in progress
--------- glitches and exploits and other things like custom games/ theater mode will all be priorities before " fixing game mechanics" because only after glitches and other hiccups are patched will other issues even be on the table.
Microsoft DOES own 343, not "pretty much." So does Activision own Treyarch, and Infinity Ward, and the hundreds of other studios that are required to work on CoD due to the IW exodus. But the difference is that Activision holds a firm grip on it’s studios, whereas 343’s relationship with Microsoft is a lot more lenient. Also, what does CoD getting patches have anything to do with Halo? Oh, that’s right. Nothing.

343 is Microsoft though. They don’t have to pay.
BS Angel, for instance, was hired by Microsoft, and sent my friend a text message when she got the job, so don’t try to pull any crap. 343 is a subsidiary of the Microsoft Games Division. Look it up. Learn a little.

Point about CoD patch is that they seem pretty quick to fix things 2 weeks after launch. Fair point that most of these were map exploits etc. not community suggestions, but will or even can 343 make a significant patch that will improve the game? That is the question.
> For die hard halo players, you guys sure do keep up with COD news. LOL
Where did I say I was “die hard Halo player” and what ever that means? If you read my original post, I stated I play both games (and actually others but I skipped 2K13 this year). Halo was my favorite franchise but I play lots of games and keep up with lots of news.
Hey, did you hear they are releasing Xbox 720 next year? “boy you sure keep up on the news as a Halo 4 diehard…”
Please, some people are hilarious that they bury their head in the sand and anything that may remotely be perceived as negative towards Halo 4 is somehow false or disregarded. Ease up people, it’s only Halo 4 not your life being criticized. Or…is Halo 4 you’re life?..
