Black Bars in Split Screen

I have been playing split screen with my friend scince the game came out and there were no black bars on the side of his tv. Now after renting COD: BO2 we started playing and black bars apeared on the sides of the screen.

every search that truned up for said they have alwasy been there. But i know that we have been playing without them. How can we go back to the no black bar playing style.

I have deleted the COD:BO2 save and it still didnt work.

its so it can fit the picture proportionally on the TV. Mine has em as well.

Is It new? Because it has not been like that before. It started tonight.

It’s always been there for me. So I can’t make a definitive statement on that.
