Bit of corporate cheek from Mr. Holmes!

Now, I fully respect this man work. Halo 5 is a masterpiece and I can’t wait to play it.
But don’t give me this.
“MATCHMAKING
Finding a balanced, low-ping match is of the utmost importance when playing Arena. Halo 5 is designed to have a high skill ceiling, and we know how frustrating it can be to play with or against players who aren’t at your skill level. We prioritize match quality above all else when finding matches in Arena. We begin by trying to find other players that are at your exact CSR. If we can’t find enough players, we very slowly open up this limitation and look for players that are around your same skill.”

Now, the bold statement. I can smell the bull all the from over here in Australia.
And that’s thing ladies and gentlemen: 343 only caters to America.
We have a server in PORT MELBOURNE and SYDNEY! BY Microsoft. Like, Azure Centers.
And this very transparent man think his servers straight outta Seattle are key.You see, connecting to American servers is like connecting to a potato. It doesn’t feel like Halo. It feels like lag.
Where can I get a transparent answer on this situation and how we can change it so I’m connecting to a server that’s less than 100kms rather than 10,000kms?

  1. 343 is IN America.
  2. How is that bull? They want to make sure that people are able to connect to their servers the same, so that some kid with great ping doesn’t demolish everyone just because he can react quicker.
  3. Okay… you have a server there. That means more than likely, you’ll be connecting with AUSTRALIANS.
  4. Potatoes feel like lag? What kind of potatoes are you growing in Australia mate?
  5. They gave you a transparent answer, you’re just clouding it with your own misconceptual judgements.

It’s DS so, in theory, you’ll be connecting to the servers closest to you. Not sure why you’re thinking you’ll be connecting to Seattle servers?

I’ve seen alot of posts about Oceanic players pretty angry by how MCC was laid out for them and they seem to think H5 will be that exact system…

It’s been explained that MCC is not Halo 5. People need to stop comparing the two. Seriously getting old, and it’s not the same. Halo 5 has dedicated servers. Obviously if there are servers in Melbourne as this kid said, then… They would connect to THEM and not Seattle. Christ on a cracker, the forums are just getting worse and worse as of late. 9 days and I’ll never have to visit these forums again.

Because of DS You will be playing with Australians most of the time

Until Halo 6. Then you have to come back.

  1. We’ve established this.
2.You’re not making any sense. If some dude that lives in America (there’s a lot of them!) Connects to the Seattle server, then what happens to us? We get destroyed; That’s not cool with me. Not only that, I dont speak for myself or all other Australians, this situation is worldwide. I just know the server locations in Australia for Microsoft.
  2. No. Not if it’s a dedicated server.
  3. Irrelevant, it’s a term.
  4. No, they haven’t. Source?

Yeah, I get you Ninja but you don’t need to rage on the forums about people who are uninformed…

  1. You connect to YOUR AUS / NZ servers.

You realize that MCC is actually not on DS majority of the time, right? That it’s using the P2P system that Halo has always used?

ETA - I’m not trying to be argumentative. Just kinda confused.

THISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
It’s not always a DS, and people don’t understand that.

Ahem

Don’t do that! Then this guy won’t have a reason to come to the forums to complain about things he doesn’t understand while at the same time making unnecessary and false accusations! Noooooooo!

Case closed. Thanks Nimble!

So, what are you so afraid of?
