Biomes

So it seems we won’t be getting any snow or desert biome for the foreseeable future. Whatever. But what about Oceans? Halo Rings often have large bodies of water, sometimes even covering the entire breadth of the ring’s surface (see: Delta Halo or Sacred Icon open cutscenes in classic). CE’s second mission (which Infinite is based on) had forest that bordered seas. Silent Cartographer’s famous island would be awesome too.

Do you think we’ll get beachside outposts to assault?

In general water has often been used as the world boundaries and the very least, I’d like water to mark the edge of the maps. Perhaps “north” is ended at the breach. “East” and “West” are the rings walls, and “South” is an ocean? I just hope Zeta halo isn’t just a bunch of trees and grass. Put a waterfall in there, a lake, an under water structure like in Regret.

I want LIQUIDS!!!

You’ll get rain and snow at least… well… give or take an update after launch. I’m sure there will be more biomes in the mostly likely DLCs in the 10 year plan.

There are 7 biomes, Pacific Northwest being main hub, then there’s swampy wetlands, deadlands and highlands that are known.
There is also the dynamic weather, on launch there’s the wind and fog, day/night cycle, but most importantly it was said about adding sand / snow storms to Infinite which of course there is no official timeline for when it comes that we know of, but it would make sense not to have specific sand / snow biomes if it’s going to come in the form of dynamic weather, which to me is a good idea.
Of course I love the snow / sand areas just as much as the next Spartan, there is so much we haven’t seen yet, it’s most likely 343 have a greater plan, they can add more biomes in dlc for example.

They really seem to be leaning into the Campaign being dynamic in general as a live service so I think these effects are probably 2-3 years away.
