Biological vs armor abilities

I’ve heard complaints for and against armor abilities, so how does this system sound?

Sprint, evasion, and clamber are biological abilities.
Armor lock, ground pound, and all others are armor abilities.

Before a multiplayer match (or campaign mission), players can pick one of each ability type. If they don’t want one, they can select ‘no ability’ as an option, and are rewarded with a higher ammo capacity for each ability they give up.

Rainbow 6 used this system in their older games.

Why would you ever even mention the term “Armor Lock”? That so-called ability should never get uttered ever again! Treat it like those from the Harry Potter series treated he who must not be named.

It made for some hilarious fails. Like bouncing back a fuel rod cannon to the guy who shot it (and subsequently killing him). Like blasting a vehicle into another character when it’s released (and subsequently killing him). Like watching 3-5 players camp around a guy who can’t move in a rare instance of true teamwork (and subsequently… well, you know where I’m going with this).

My point is, there should be some abilities that don’t rely on a power suit of armor. I’d have these same biological abilities be available to ODSTs/Marines. Especially in my spinoff games:
