Biggest Issue in halo 4- to you

I have been active on the forum lately and have seen lots of people talking about issues with halo 4.

I just wanted to get a topic started that was simply what is the biggest issue to you and why?

I’m still thinking over mine but I have a couple im deciding between. I miss descoping a lot and im split on sprint.(huge halo 2 and 3 fan but also enjoyed reach and halo 4 with sprint)

Just comment with the biggest issue or two to you and reasons why they are such a large factor.

Descoping- I wish that was in halo 4 and not flinch.

Reasons- It widens the skill gap, no longer can you hold the scope with dmr and 5 shot somebody while taking shots, no longer can a sniper hold the scope on someone shooting them.

I miss getting knocked out of scope with sniper and quickscoping someones face off. I miss being a shot or two down in a fight and knocking the attacker out of scope and out skilling them.

The 10% speed boost added in an update is the worst. The gameplay just isn’t as fun, even though I’m maintaining my K/D and win/loss ratios.

The only real complaints that I ever find myself complaining about in Halo 4 are:

> Explosives Armor Mod
> BR’s RoF
> Jet Pack AA
> Active Camo AA
In that order. Either because one annoys me more often/is used lesser than the others.

Why?

> Makes Frags even more annoying. The extra blast radius is just ridiculous. This gets worse when combined with Resupply.
> It’s just a tad bit too fast.
> Ruins cover/map flow.
> Gets rid of aim assist, and it makes combat slower/boring (at all ranges). Don’t even get me started on the Glitchers that get rid of the blue warning dots…

  • Frame rate issues on certain maps, when playing on splitscreen. Makes Halo 4 literally unplayable for me.

  • Mixing gametypes which support custom loadouts with gametypes that don’t on single playlist. Infinity Slayer and Legendary Slayer are far too different from each other, so when I want to use my loadouts I don’t want to vote if I can.

  • Very small amount of content. Only 4 default 4v4 maps + technically broken forge maps (1st point…) + DLC maps that never appears even if I have them all.

Wow, I didn’t even know or notice this. Was throwdown always 110% speed? Cause that may explain why.

I haven’t split screened h4 often but when I have I totally agree its basically unbearable to play most maps.

The mixing gametypes doesn’t bother me as much I just wish the order of them was set to random so that regular slayer or legendary has the possibility of appearing first.

I agree that the amount of decent maps is limited but, I think that is something higher on the list for me of things that drive me crazy.

Boltshot doesn’t bother me as much as it should I guess I’ve become numb to it as well as its kidn of a if you can’t beat them join them type thing. I use the same argument to use promethean vision both of which I’m not very fond.

I haven’t literally gone into a custom and seen the difference between explosives on grenade radius and off. I would be curious to see the difference. Someone told me that grenade damage is higher in legendary slayer and I didn’t know if that was referencing damage or blast radius.

The ROF with br doesn’t really bother me but once again thats something that I use a lot. I feel like on big maps the dmr can beat it but that close range the br will win and I think thats the balance they were trying to achieve.

Jet pack drives me crazy, on a map like haven or abandon where they just jet pack to top all game off spawn it is just flat out stupid.

Invis- I am an hold h2 player so I still feel like invis is like ovy and pickup as powerup only, so invis on spawn is just idiotic to me.

That’s a tough one as I have a few…
Although most I can work with. I guess lack of dedicated servers/lag would be up the to, also map & objective variety the game can be quite repetative.

I don’t use the Boltshot because I hate it. I don’t use the BR either because I love my LightRifle/Storm Rifle.

The BR/DMR balance was definitely achieved. The BR can just be… too much, at times.

As for Explosives, it says it only adjusts the radius, which is definitely true. But I swear it increases the damage too.

Gotta agree here

My biggest complaint right now is why is there like 6 very unpopular playlists on, but NONE are DLC only maps for people that actually are sick of exile and ragnarok. i bought bullseye pack and still havnt even played the damn maps… its shocking. the majestic maps were really good, proper halo maps, i havnt played on one for about 3/4 months now.

if team throwdown was DLC maps only, im sure alot of people would play it who are sick and bored of playing BTB on ragnarok 24/7

The list of issues since launch is huge but currently the biggest issue is that the Australian nightly population is down to only 3000 people. No chance of good games (good connection/ good opponents) when its that low.

They should make all the DLC free. Anything to drive the population up over xmas.

Sprint

Let me clarify. I like sprint in Halo. It’s in every other game and from a realistic standpoint you should be able to sprint. And it helps get around maps faster and quickens gameplay (which I like without straying to far from the Halo formula)

I hate it though because they didnt do enough in H4 to stop it as in I still find myself chasing someone with low shields who decides to run from a gun fight. They should fix it to where if your taking damage sprint is disabled.

And jetpack

Reason? it completely ruins map flow and gameplay. Nothing worse than a derp going “hey instead of playing this map the way its supposed to be played lets jetpack OVER the cover which takes no skill” or “Hey im taking damage lets jetpack straight up and hope I dont take anymore damage”

Just things like that really make me rage. Other then that I love the game.

Just wish I could play DLC maps more in team slayer matchmaking.

this would be an awesome move, but never happen when the GOTY edition isnt even out yet…

Vehicle Combat, many aspects are very broken.

the Most Prominent:
Plasma Pistols and Plasma Grenades in Loadouts

Reason:
They give players free anti-vehicle weapons that most vehicles have little power to fight against, makes vehicles pointless to use, and too rewarding to fight.

Next on the List,
The Mantis

Reason:
It’s placed on all the wrong maps, against the wrong weapons and vehicles, and so it’s overpowered

Next, Lack Of tanks
Reason: Variety’s sake, and they are staples of Halo, yet aren’t featured very often, Wraith is non-existant, and Scorpions are only featured on Longbow (where they don’t belong)

Next, The Ghost
Reason: ignoring the Plasma Weapons problem, its armor is much too weak to make it a feasibly useful vehicle, i can take ghosts out single-handily with my Assault rifle.

The lack of the ability to search for a good connection variable.

This. A good connection filter makes a world of difference. With all the chaos of Infinity Slayer, adding lag on top makes it unplayable at times.

Lack of Custom Games settings.
Camo Snipers
BR only games
Same old maps
Infection is gone(Flood is really not the same)
Missing Gametypes found inside the game code…
Low ranking system
OP Loadouts
Lack of DLC Playlists
Ordanance Drops

Explain how the BR is to much at times?

>Not seeing your CSR when searching a playlist.

>AR’s (They’re just broken. I’ve been killed Mid-Long range just because I miss a single shot)

Bolt Shots are just fine. I just wished that when I shoved mine down someones throat, it would kill them 40 percent of the time.
