Biggest Halo, Small Feeling Arsenal

I love the weapons I have seen and used so far… But it feels like there is some weapons missing…

As a long time Halo Fan (since 2004)… I do miss weapons like
The Plasma Rifle, Carbine, Needle Rifle, Magnum, Classic Shotgun, DMR, and the SMG… HECK I even liked the LMG from Halo 4/5 that thing was cool.
Sad to see NONE of these made a come back in the “Biggest Halo Ever”.

I love the Commando, but It is not a replacement for the DMR. I would love to see the DMR return.
The SMG might also be nice, but it might be weak for PvP, I love the weapon, but back during H2 and H3 when you could dual wield.
I still think it would be nice to see that, even the SSMG from ODST.
The Magnum is Different than the Sidekick. Where the Sidekick feels like a normal Sidearm… a Magnum should be more like a Hand cannon, which it is also weird to have a HALO without the Magnum, And I have made many posts about how they could implement both being in game.
SAME with the Classic Shotgun, made many posts about how they could implement both… but maybe later we will see them
It’ll suck no having them in the campaign, unless they have some sorta “loadout” system in the campaign where you could pick what you go on objectives with… restock at UNSC Crates allover the ring… etc etc… but it is too late for that now…

I would love to see something like a Carbine/Plasma Rifle combo… kinda like an Banished version of the commando…
Heck even a Spiker would do well with the new enemy, especially since they are lead by Brutes… Oh the Spiker and the Brute Shot (Thug Muffin Launcher… you play Halo 3 and tell me the ammo doesn’t look like muffins on the HUD).

I really like what I saw, be it… kinda small for a 2 month away release… 5 maps… a few weapons…
It does feel… like it is lacking. I mean, despite Halo 5 having so many weapons… be it “Attachment” versions…
It feels like less of an armory compared to Halo 3 or Halo 4… I do hope if they add more weapons later into the PvP they find a way to add them to the campaign and whatever other modes come out (hopefully some sorta Spartan Ops, Firefight… idk, just something to use the player spartan in more… something to really make the story feel worth 60$)
I do not mind waiting months to see new weapons… or returning weapons, would be neat.

I don’t think you understand what a technical preview is, at all.

There have already been a number of weapons found in random custom games that people have put together through the technical preview that we are never seeing on MP.

The sword will be there at launch along with multiple other weapons, but having all of these weapons ready for the preview was beyond the scope of the preview.

Their main priorities were to have a game that 1) was fun to play and 2) didn’t completely **** the bed when a **** ton of players tried to access the MP. We definitely do NOT need another MCC-like launch

I find it kind of funny how people will complain more about weapons being removed and replaced in a Halo sequel than they do about fighters being removed or replaced in a Street Fighter one. Despite how drastically more unique and special specific fighting game characters feel compared to one another than weapons do in a shooter. The difference between a lot of these guns is so minor that they just end up being better or worse versions of another gun. A Magnum will always just be a better or worse version of the BR or Sidekick, depending on whether it’s similar to CE/5s, or similar to 2/4’s. The only difference is now they aren’t just painting it black and calling it the same gun…

It’s the same with the Bulldog. It’s basically just the CE shotgun. But since the shotgun we know has evolved since then to something we think about as a close-ranged one shot kill machine instead of a close-mid ranged DPS weapon they decided to give it a new name and design. If anything it’s more of a “classic shotgun” from a gameplay standpoint than the Shotgun has been since Halo 2.
