Biggest concerns of Halo Infinite campaign I’ve seen:

Reviews generally look positive from what I’ve seen. But there are some concerns I hope 343 can address.

Please post others you’ve seen which are a concern:

Concerns

  • No Variable Refresh Rate for 120fps mode. As it understandably can’t keep at 120fps continually, this results in stutters. Concerned why there is no VRR (according to Digital Foundry)
  • No variety of weather/outside environment/no different biomes. Concerned it may get boring. Even Halo had a mix of outdoor environments
  • Plot. Apparently need to understand Halo Wars 2 to grasp the plot. I found that instantly forgettable so will reply between now and Wednesday.
  • 30fps cut scenes. Even Halo 5 had better than this
  • 30fps animations for changing guns/reloading.
  • Sound is good but doesn’t build to a great crescendo or climax
  • Enemies don’t blend into the environment due to lack of reflections on their bodies.

Hopefully if that’s all the biggest concerns, it should be a good game.

I’m pretty sure weather is being added in a later update, probably when they add the godrays.

Fingers crossed for addition of weather. Appears god rays already there from comparison to 2020 trailer I watched. No fussed about ray tracing as big power draw for little gain. But want variety in the world.

Possibly will be added in paid expansion packs to make world bigger

yeah wind / fog and rain / snow storms at a later date

Apparently no ability to replay levels. Or checkpoint system. Hopefully will be a way to obtain all collectibles if miss first time around

Halo has never had an even decent story in their campaigns. It’s always just been mindless fun, ideally in coop with friends.

One biome, no weather and no coop in the biggest Xbox franchise, that hasn’t had a new release in 6 years, is utter pants.

They’re lucky the gunplay in the bare bones multiplayer is genuinely brilliant.

Agree the game appears to be crying out for coop. But it is what it is for now.

Halo has always been about fun mindless combat. This looks to have satisfied that.

I was keen for just one thread listing key concerns. Waypoint often becomes chocked with multiple similar posts.

Weather effects and different climate zones would be so awesome! Especially fog and snow would make for a great addition.
Think about banished brutes, slowly patrolling a FOB in the mist…that would look so awesome.

Other than that, i’m freaking hyped for the campaign!

I’m worried about the shift to open world. I’m not typically a fan of open world games and I’m kinda bummed out that everything has to be open world these days. My favorite singleplayer games have all been somewhat linear in nature because I’m not a fan of constantly having interactive downtime and I personally think that combat encounters are typically worse in open world games.

I’m also worried that the story might be as boring. That black chick in the academy was an awful character. There was absolutely nothing about her that got me excited to follow her into battle or fight by her side and I’m hoping the story is far above that level of writing and voice acting as it is the worst that I’ve ever experienced in Halo.

Lastly, I’m just worried that the singleplayer didn’t get as much attention as it needed. I don’t understand how coop isn’t going to be implemented on launch. How hard is it to just throw another spartan in that a friend can control? I’m questioning how much attention the campaign was really given here or if 343 had a lot of technical issues that will take away from the experience in a manner that is noticeable to the players.

I’m still excited, I got the game preloaded, I’ve been playing alot of MCC in anticipation of the infinite campaign, and I’m still optimistic that it’ll be a great experience
