Bigger Forge items and budget please(Xbox One

This is a request, Short sweet and to the point.

With the inclusion of forge island to halo 4, the have been Several new additions to the Forge roster Thatare terrific.

-rock types 3,4,5
-trees

  • Forge template that doesnt lag up like a -Yoink-

As much as i praise these objects, it is still a little bare.
I dont know if its just me but the rocks in forge island are very for lack of better words colorless, the detail is great on them but do not feel like rocks, where as the rocks on halo reach, specifically on ridgeline, while not perfect in design, were perfect in detail.

The main problem i have is the texture of these rocks, expecially rock 5, it does not feel like actual terrain and thus makes it difficult to place when structuring a map.

Rock 5 is a great step foward, and i dont want to be a negative nancy, but i REALLY think most forgers for the future console, WANT land masses that can be merged ansd formed to create ANY kind of land structure,

For instance chunk of land PERFECTLY flat, both visually and manuverability.

EXAMPLE: Green screen “minus” neon green “Plus” grass textures with NO bumps visually, non at all, zilch, 0, natta

Take the same princple and add rock texture, but instead of the rock 5 approach, have NO bumps, grooves, divets, hills, inclines, JUST perfectly FLAT.

Like i said im not bashing rock 5, but ive scrapped so many projects because the rocks look so UNEVEN even though you can walk across them with NO problems.

This has to either go, or add a rock type that IS like this, BUT HUGE, MASSIVE, Think “silo type 3” big

I still dont understand why rock type 5, couldnt have at least 100 objects for it, as its proven, it works just fine with more.

Trees are perfect, the only thing id say is add more variety

Old base materials:

Honestly tectures killed these items, i dont see many forgers using brace large anymore for walkways, because it doent look right anymore.

scrap the old items, except standard building blocks and walls.

From here Add new items,

Examples:

-Wood poles
-tubes to climb in (like erosion but hollow) (some of which that has a hole in the side to make it look destroyed)

Be creative but remember we dont need “Fancy” textures K.I.S.S

Above all else, maybe we could EVOLVE forge with a terrain editor, Food for thought.

And maybe with xbox one we can see a HIGHER budget

Precision editing NEEDS to return, coupled with magnets as well

Dynamic lighting needs to be tweaked to not only support higher items, but adjustable, to not only direction but also on/off. i repeat (ON/OFF) function

Finally id like to leave this thread with an option for a second disk, specifically for forging, so we can see a HIGHER budget, More worlds, more object types, and endless fun. Seperate disk for this will save SO much room to allow for MORE, and should be looked into.

I’m going to comment on this post even though its buried a few pages, because I really like all your ideas.
If we are not going to get a full map editor or some type of Smartglass function, then we need to give ideas to improve the Forge we already have and like I said, I like all your ideas.

-I’ll add that we need different pallets to choose from. UNSC, Covenant, Forerunner, and regular human design. (example Headlong, Turf, ect…)

-A type of paintbrush system that we can use to create dirt roads, snow on the ground, grassy plains, you get the idea.

  • Harlight bridges are a personal item I would enjoy very much with a Forerunner pallet.

  • I can’t stress enough over a terrain editor. In my opinion, this is a must have. We don’t need a crazy terrain editor to where I can create a hole to Hell or a hill to Heaven, but the ability to move the ground to a respectable level.

  • Adding to this is the ability to create creeks or rivers as well.
  • Moving deceptive objects. Like the satellite antenna on Ascension or the windmill on Zanzibar for example. Even the elevator lift on Ivory Tower would be cool.

-Environment control. Rain, snow, fog, sunny.

  • Actual decorative doors. I recently forge a map and on a decorative room I needed a door. I realised very soon that there wasn’t a single block or anything that looked like a door. Simply frustrating.

All this shouldnt be a problem with a map editor and I don’t see a reason why we shouldnt have one for the next Halo. Especially with the opportunity to integrate Smartglass into Forge and the power of the Xbox One.
