Exactly my thoughts. I could just as easily say “Big win for us OG fans!!!”
Everyone got a little something, and that’s really the best option imo. I don’t like enhanced movement, but I do like the less hyper realistic art style. I wasn’t a fan of the grappling hook, but I loved equipment pickups from H3 so now I love the grappling hook after seeing it in action.
This takes elements from both 3 and 5 both mechanically and artistically. I’m really really glad they didn’t take the writing or music from H5. That game’s OST had only two good tracks and subpar fanfiction levels of writing.

I don’t mind the enhanced movements in the campaign, but it can have an undesired effect on the gameplay we’ll see. The grappling hook is gonna take some time getting used to. That’s very different. Doom and Titanfall used this.
It looks like they took the well received elements of previous titles and merged them. Kept what worked and what was liked and ditched what didn’t. Even going as far as taking story elements and art style from Halo Wars 2. We have the Grunts from Halo 4 & 5 with the scaly skin, but they’re wearing classic armor. We have classic looking Jackals but they’re talking like in Halo 5. Classic Elites that, I swear to you make sounds ripped directly from Combat Evolved in THIS NEW TRAILER. We have the removal of some of the advanced movement mechanics, but not all. We have Halo 3 style equipment and apparently a grapple now instead of thrusters (which is apparently just a pickup in multiplayer, not sure how that’ll work). We have classic music and sound effects where it counts (shields, for example) but the explosions and warthog engine sound new and beefy like the 343 titles.
So depending on how you look at it or how stubborn you are, it’s either a win for everybody or a compromise that annoys everybody.

Yes, that’s why we still have sprint and clamber and even a return of bloom XD

It looks like a gameplay demo with more work to be done. There’s a programmer floating around these forums who has told me that with the time left until Infinite launches, there will likely be tons of more work to be done to polish up the game before release. We have a ways to go here people.

Well, it certainly looks like Halo 3. Especially in that it looks like it released in 2007. I never said the graphics were nice. lol
