Big Team Zombies and other ideas.

Hey folks I got a question!

When you played Zombies in the day of Halo 2 did you just have 8 players? Did you say “Screw a full party we stoppin at 8 lol”? HELL NO. You had 16 players

So why is Zombies in Halo Reach treated like it’s team slayer? It’s ZOMBIES. Numbers are literally the point of this game. 8 player zombies is fine or whatever amount it is. However there should be a BIG TEAM ZOMBIES mode in BTB

Other ZOMBIES idea

1-Have a mode with no pistol. Just shotguns vs swords

2-Have a reverse mode. One person with a shotgun hunts down players with Swords. Shotgun is infected.

3-Add “FATMAN” into MM. BTB or 8 player.

4-Quick Infection: On either mode half(ish( players are already infected. Humans only gun one pistol, No ammo pickup, High gravity and zombies are FAST.

And if anyone else has ideas give em. OR opinions.!

The BK in me screams “OMG SANDTRAP ZOMBIES WITH ZOMBIES 300% SPEED AND GRAVITY HAMMERS AND HUMANS IN VEHICLES WITHOUT GUNS WOULD BE SO MUCH FUN!!!11!!111!”

The competitive player in my says that would be limited, but whatever floats people’s boats.

I don’t see why not, but I wouldn’t play it.

Heavily agreed on the fat kid bit.

I dont even like normal infectiong, i liked the objectives given to us. Like in halo 3 where we destroy the walls and go past before the fat kid gets you.

I agree 100% with the OP and the ideas he has. Infection in Reach has been an utter disappointment so far, and here’s no hoping that we’ll have Infection that’s as good, if not better, than it was in Halo 3!

Who cares about infection.? besides none good kids.

> Who cares about infection.? besides none good kids.

I care about Infection because it’s my favorite custom game in Halo.

PS: Here some of my ideas

I have been saying a giant game of zombies would be awesome to my friends for so long! they need a map that is like a maze, so you can’t see the zombies from far away, so they just jump out at you. and zombies don’t get radar, so they don’t just camp.

I’m not a big Infection fan, just not my cup of tea, but I like the BTB idea, I wouldn’t play it, but it’s not a bad idea. What I don’t understand is why the “zombies” can’t be flood infected Spartans.

Meh, don’t care. Won’t be playing the crappy playlist anyhow.

Writing this from my cell. Anyway infection is for bad kids? I can’t even know if that was trollin or what. Please I play infection, and I’m a damn halo vet, ten years, all games, I have fun, which is what halo is meant for. Swat and dmr slayer is what’s turning halo into cod. “Yea let’s just make it one gun, one shot kills, shoot first and win”. I enjoy my halo with tactical team planning, thinking of what weapons to use. With vehicles driving around and bombs going off. I wanna see bodies flying in the air after being blown up. I want fast mo@vement and weapon balance and variety.

Zombies is one of the most important historical landmarks of halo history. It shows the amazing minds and fun halos community has and is part of halo 2s life. Saying zombies is bad is dissing the fun and originality halo should stand for

Fun games make halo. Customs during 2 and 3 were what we remember, I don’t remember every mlg slayer match but I can remember nearly all my customs I’ve played with friends.

I have two points to add:

  1. Zombies should be slow, not fast. Slow and highly resilient. Players should be back-pedalling from armies of the infernal creatures while using up each and every round in their weapons.

  2. I don’t know whether this has ever been suggested before, but it seems painfully logical: Zombie Invasion (the phrase even makes sense!). Complex objectives likely wouldn’t fit the theme, but if a large number of slow-moving yet surprisingly robust zombies were slowly staggering towards a generator in order to destroy it while members of the opposing team (now dwindling to a handful) were attempting to fend them off, I think the enjoyment would be palpable. It would even combine the best aspects of Infection and Invasion: initially, the focus would be on attacking other humans in order to amass sufficient numbers to assault the generator; once that “critical mass” is reached, the focus would shift toward completing the objective.

> What I don’t understand is why the “zombies” can’t be flood infected Spartans.

Yes. Yes, yes, yes. Yes.

Big team zombies makes me want to cry rainbows. How has this idea never crossed the mind of every zombies fan on earth?

Because people believe Halo has to be either all SUNSHINE AND RAINBOWS or all DOOM AND GLOOM HARDCORE.

I liked the Halo 3 idea of having Ranked and Unranked and such. Not that I don’t like Halo Reach’s way (because ranks to me should not make or break a game) but still.

Big Team Zombies. Imagine having Fat Man with 16 players on MM, Having parties! ETC

Also Infection Invasion would be cool but would have some work to be done, Anything goes wrong and it would be ruined. But could be done with a lot of work!

Yeah I would love it. You can do the same stuff in Reach, but there’s nobody to play customs with. But I hope they have stuff like this in Halo 4!

> Meh, don’t care. Won’t be playing the crappy playlist anyhow.

Any playlist can be considered crappy. I am sure thousands consider the playlist you play to be crappy too. There are thousands that consider each playlist crappy.

oh dont i miss the days of H2 zombies. it was balanced because people actually used common knowledge and played as a zombie in the movies. “im a single zombie against 15 players. now how am i going to kill 15 people holding out at that corner, examine terrain okay bingo sneak around there and crouch and then flank” now halo reach noobs “its too hard make the humans so weak so i dont have to try and kill them i can just somehow gain ninja abilities and evade into them and give them Yoink! weapons”. I miss the good old days where it was common. 16 players with one or 2 as zombies, long matches, TK off, no radar, only human weapons and you could duel weild, no shields, pick up ammo, god i could list the options they had for ever the perfect

as much as it sounds fun, people will think. go with just a shotgun or shotgun and pistol and get more kills this way. so they will hardly pick it unless someone get a group of 8 and with 3 guests for 2 players and votes for it.

[quotye]2-Have a reverse mode. One person with a shotgun hunts down players with Swords. Shotgun is infected.

this does sound like fun but would have to see a halo 3 gameplay. almost like Halo 2 CopsNRobbers

> 3-Add “FATMAN” into MM. BTB or 8 player.

unfortunately some people are poor sports as zombies and will rage quit if they move too slow and if they die once they quit because they are selfish.

> 4-Quick Infection: On either mode half(ish( players are already infected. Humans only gun one pistol, No ammo pickup, High gravity and zombies are FAST.

probably less people would vote for this then number 1 idea

> And if anyone else has ideas give em. OR opinions.!

for me i want the old style back but with small canges to not change too much but to get the selfish people to quit less. make a 16 plaer with 4 zombies and you can only be zombie if you were the top 4 human players last round so if you did good as zombie then you wont be it again and if you are bad then you wont have to worry about being zombie 2 or 3 times like reach which caused rage quiting. infact that was so flawed i recorded going 7 to 12 games every round being a zombie and yet the option was random? top 4 humans should be it and also it should be 4 rounds. put it on a medium size map like foundation H2 and have the common halo 2 options on.

> it was balanced because people actually used common knowledge and played as a zombie in the movies. “im a single zombie against 15 players. now how am i going to kill 15 people holding out at that corner, examine terrain okay bingo sneak around there and crouch and then flank”

Please point me in the direction of a zombie movie in which the zombies know how to flank their enemies. To my way of thinking, the behaviour you’ve described is pretty much the opposite of the behaviour that a zombie would be likely to adopt–namely, slow, mindless shambling, regardless of whether they were approaching a clueless bunny rabbit or a heavily armed commando.

halo you seen the movies 27 days and 27 weeks? they start off with just one zombie in 27 weeks later and if it had been shot it would ahve been over for the outbreak so the zombie was all stealthy and attacked by surprise, not by bull rushing the enemy, like halo 2, after you built up an army of zombies like 8 then it became a rush to run your enemy out of ammo and eventually when you ran out of ammo it was “OH YOINK!”

and halo 2 zombies worked like an outbreak. the zombies were stealth at first in small numbers and then after numbers were large enough they turned the map into a ramaging Yoink! fest with human palyers screaming. that was fun. i loved secretl playing on Backwash because of the mist.
