Please guys, stop taking that map as soon as it shows up!
It’s probably one of the most crappy map that were released in Halo 4. Not only, does it not have any fun heavy weapon (for big team, except for Incernator which comes aftere 3-4 minutes) but the red side has a clearly better startpoint then the blue side. (especially if you play with unknown guys to you, and they do what they want). And what’s more, that map has a f****** respawn suicide trap Oo
You are respawnd in the water 2-3 times and get 3 suicides. That’s just ridiculous. How can it be, that Settler is still in the big team list??
I’m asking 343 Industry or whoever makes the maps:Put Hemorrhage in the list <3 xd
I like it. as an old-school halo player, im all about using rifles most of the time, rather than camping power weapons 24/7, so my team and i destroy anything on it. except for one time, where morbisassassin went 4-16 cuz he kept poking his head out. lost by 3.

Red team, which i tend to be on most of the time, have the advantage of making it up on the ridge quicker than the blue team. However, that shotgun area, sucks so bad, that it makes the perfect camping spot. Should’ve been the Sniper Rifle since Settler is an open map. Like who would use the shotgun on a map like that?
Besides occasionally spawning underwater I think the map is great. The key to winning is controlling the top ridge and hoping your team don’t just aimlessly wonder across the center of the map.

ugh active campos guarding the flag in ctf has even got worse with an active campo also guarding the flag with an inceneration cannon

I thought Settler was a publisher forged map, not a community forged map. Am I correct?

If you spawn under the water it is only because the forger dropped a spawn point in the water. This can happen if the spawn point is set to normal physics and they placed it at the edge of the cliff on a slope. It is very easy to avoid, just takes time. I guess the forger was in a rush…

The problem I have with this map (besides the enormously entertaining suicide upon spawn in the water) is that the blocks clash with each other and the surrounding forerunner theme.
They had the most excellent opportunity to give the blocks forerunner skins like in Reach on the Ravine canvas, while giving the UNSC skins on Impact and ancient stone skins on Erosion. But they were thinking single dimensional i guess…
They need to burn this canvas and never put another Ravine map into the playlist again.
I’m just tired of playing this map 5 times in a row because everyone keeps picking it instead of the other 5 maps in the playlist.
I actually like Exile now (I used to HATE it before) and ONLY because I use the (un)mounted turret religiously on it. I know there’s turrets on settler, but its not as fun using them on that map, plus playing it 5 times in a row gets real tiring.
