Can we please start penalizing people who quit games more harshly???
It’s getting rather annoying to join mid-game and be down 82 - 20 every other game.
Then when we DO get a full game, 2 minutes in half of one team already quits.
I love Chief, but this is completely ruining the experience and can easily be fixed.
There are two problems which contribute to quitting.
If one team is down by 62 points, there’s probably an obvious reason why so many people are quitting and that’s uneven skill balancing. A lot of people don’t like playing games where you’re just getting spawn camped or stomped and this social matching system loves to make those kind of matches.
The other issue is JIP itself. You shouldn’t be joining a game where the other team already has 82 kills or other scenarios like 120-0 in SH or 2-0 in flag with barely any time left, but I doubt 343 is ever going to really fix JIP.
If it’s 82-20 or even 62-20, that’s a huge skill mismatch. There is a reason people are quitting. They are probably not enjoying getting wrecked by a team of coordinated Onyx players. Is it fair to punish people who are able to recognize that matchmaking has failed and have better things to do with their time?
My dude I high-key completely agree with you on this one, like for real. Not even gonna lie to you for a split second, I’ll be chillin in a BTB game, up about 20 points, and realize I’m the only person on my team… smh… It’s times like these that the equilibrium aspect really comes into perspective.

You play chief too? Awesome!
I wonder if the “Pass” bumped up the population? If it did then newbies might be quitting since they don’t have the reqs to compete. Punish them to much and they might not return.

They might go and play Samus instead Though hopefully some of those newbies will at least stick with BTB and get better, since you don’t need reqs for it. I wouldn’t blame them for giving up on Warzone, though

Why was I thinking warzone? Silly me.
Have you checked out the M15 zeno lately? I actually looked at some old film today for a short while.

Penalize them how? What can you do that hasn’t already been done, that won’t just further drain and demoralize the remaining population?
Quitting is not the problem. It’s a symptom of larger problems. Solve those larger problems and the quitting will very likely take care of itself. Or maybe not. What do I know?

I’ve been pushing this for a long time, because my Arena win/loss is sloppy because I get sucked into peoples’ games they leave because they’re losing.
I joined a big team game the other day and i kid you not, about 8 seconds after I join the enemy team caps their third flag. And we didn’t even have any caps like I thought that was really cool.

Yes, part of competition is getting beat, you dominate or you get dominated, punking out when things get tough isn’t the answer.

82-20 isn’t a competition. I can take a loss but I don’t have the patience to endure getting insta killed repeatedly. Honestly though Halo 5 has decent matchmaking. Other than btb or warzone it’s usually pretty balanced as far as skill. Depending on my mood I’ll hang out in a total beat down, but long term it’s better to just quit than to let those bad experiences turn you against the game.
