So yeah, been waiting for a while now, and there’s still this massive failure in terms of Matchmaking. Still no big team objective. Just about everyone I have on Xbox have now stopped playing Halo 4 and have switched to GTA IV in anticipation for the March release of GTA V.
The most popular playlist in Halo 3 hasn’t made an appearance in Halo 4. That’s OK though, I have other games.
If 343’s strategy is to keep people hanging on for this really badly wanted playlist, it won’t work. Releasing the playlist months after the game release is like locking up the booze at a new year’s party until 4am - No one wants it anymore, they’re all tired and are going home disappointed, or to other people’s parties who have the booze on offer when the party starts.
Disappointed to say that the state of matchmaking has affected my overall opinion of the game also. It’s not really Halo. It’s Call of Duty Black Ops 2 with more space age weapons. The campaign was lacking, and almost every mission followed the same formula - Here’s an objective, shoot your way there, press the button, shoot your way out.
Well that’s my rant over. I’ll be playing minecraft lol. Happy new year!
BTB MCTF on Valhalla or Standoff in Halo 3 was probably one of the pinnacles of Halo MM for me. I fail to understand how Slayer and Objective cannot be in the one playlist for BTB. Don’t tell me it can’t happen either as the Crimson DLC list has both Objective and Slayer choices.
This is the one playlist my Clan has utilized to, well, be a CLAN since Halo 2. The simple answer is that 343i are not Halo fans. Not online fans anyways. With friends.
Slayer is for kids.
I really like the Booze example. That’s it for sure! I have never NEVER seen a letdown of this scale in my whole life and I have been gaming prettttty hard since 86/87.
Never in the modern history of online console gaming has anyone released a game defintively unfinished as this, with classically STANDARDIZED gametypes ARBITRARILY REMOVED FOR NO REASON all while the developer GUSHES WITH ENTHUSIASM in their news feed about how HARD they worked for three years. There’s more on the way!
Great guys.
I’ve said it before. Sell me a car with three wheels and talk for days on end about how in five months you’ll “Release” the fourth wheel so I can finally take her out for a spin.
“Infinity Challenge” really blew my mind. Not only did they focus SO HARD at completely ignoring all of us, they actually shut down for a month and force-fed us a COMPETITIVE COMPETITION gametype in a NON-COMPETITIVE, NON-RANKED, UNFINISHED GAME.
Please finish the game and let me try THAT version out before you go pretending it’s time to have a competition. I still can’t get more than half my Clan to even sign on with the current gutted playlist allottment.
How hard is it to imagine that more than half your installed fanbase is over the age of eighteen. The online side of Halo launched in 2004 with Halo 2. Deal with it. 343i, you’ve already killed off half our real population. Stop kicking us in the balls and just flip the damn switch that restores matchmaking.
I can’t believe I still sign on here to see if progress has been made.
It’s pretty appalling to be honest, I just can’t wrap my head around what the hell 343 are doing and how in God’s name this could be considered good practise from a business perspective. Alienating a HUGE amount of their most dedicated fanbase with utterly dogga an quite frankly crazy design decisions. I’m genuinely confused as to how this could possible be considered an acceptable position to be in. Honestly, it’s almost as if during Halo 4’s development 343 had ‘come into work drunk and stoned Tuesday’ and that’s the root cause of all our respective greviences regarding the state of this… /ahh whatever rant over, just needed a little vent.
