Big team battle should be... Bigger.

I’m really looking forward to Halo 5. Now that 343i is working with the power of next gen consoles I think they should take this opportunity to take advantage of the xbox ones power and make bigger maps, for bigger BTB sessions. I don’t mean all the maps in general, just BTB fit maps should be big enough for lets say a 16v16.

Maps would have to be bigger for the faster pace this one seems to have. I’d say look at how big Titanfalls maps are.

i want 15 v 15. and no, i want maps that arent just arena, i want some maps that are big. really. big.

Probably a bit smaller. Doesn’t Titanfall use a lot of AI combatants to fill up the empty space?

I’d enjoy 16v16 battles :slight_smile: Would need some pretty big maps though.

That’s not a bad thing however as they would be amazing for forge.

I could maybe see 10v10 or 12v12 max, but even that would take a hell of a map lineup. As a player that almost exclusively plays BTB, I’d definitely be down for it.

Eh. You can move much faster in Titanfall than what we’ve seen in Halo 5.

It would be incredibly fun (and hectic), but the larger the matches the longer we’d end up waiting in the lobby for other players, especially given the way populations on a shooter fluctuate. Realistically, I’m not sure BTB can go beyond 16 v 16 without creating some rather lengthy (possibly even flat-out absurd) wait times. It may not even be feasible to make it that big, though I’m sure we could support something larger than the current 8 v 8 model.

12 vs 12 would probably be the ideal size to balance out fun without having long lobby waits.

Call it “Bigger Team Battle” and up the total player count to whatever is feasible for a variety of maps that can support. BTB is the only MM playlist I love. More team members, more vehicles, more chaos and to come out victorious? Deliciousness…

Also what about a huge BTB, but multi team? 8v8v8v8? Could be pretty epic as well.

But Titanfall doesn’t have vehicles other than the Titans.

theres a halo fan game being made at the moment for PC that has like 34 v 34

34 v 34? That’s crazy. I’d be down. Needs to be native and on the console though lol.

Totally agree with you.

I also think that it gets more lagging with more player. I know next gen and dedicated servers etc. but I don’t want to see lagging games anymore like “wtf, just three bullets hit me and I died? Why? Or did the other hits not even showed up cause of lagging?”. I want stable BTB!

I’d quite fancy both, regular 8v8 and a larger option like 12v12 or 16v16. It would obviously require larger maps so there are more vehicles, weapons and the like to share among the larger teams but considering that we’ve had maps like forge world in reach it should be possible.

There was no huge barrier to implementing higher player counts on the 360. Bigger =/= better.

Nobody wants a mediocre halo experience regardless of scale. Yes the current sandbox isn’t designed for a bigger BTB. That’s why we’re talking H5. Big team battle is fun, but limiting in some aspects. There is nothing better than an intense game of BTB. Increasing the player count increases the fast paced environment and likely the carnage.

Upping the player count, along with different map layouts/functionality to accommodate increased said player count (whatever they deem is balanced and works best) would be something that most BTB fans would in all likelihood um… be a fan of lol.

Not asking for anything crazy. 10v10 would have different dynamics than the current 8v8. 12v12 or dare I say it, 16v16 would take different strategy and skills to master than current BTB dynamics. That would be fun.

Maybe leave BTB the way it is at 8v8. Maybe have an additional playlist of BTW (Big Team War)? Call it 15 players per side for symmetry OR 4 teams of 8, like a big multi team? There is definitely a desire for something grander. Big team has the most potential out of any other playlist. Why not maximize that potential? That’s all. If the xbox one and dedicated servers can handle it, why not make it happen?
