Big problem.

When my friend starts up halo 4 he gets this message, “unable to write to your gamer profile please make sure it is not on a removed storage device or on a storage device with low space” and then the gamertag corrupts. Any ideas on what he can do?

bump, anyone?

What type of hdd does he have on his Xbox? Or is it being loaded off a flash drive by any chance?

well, is the memory almost full?

There is 7.5 GB left, so that shouldn’t be a problem.

No it isn’t being loaded off of a flash drive just a normal xbox hard drive

Is this after installing halo to the hdd?

Need 8 gb on hard drive, here is an IGN unboxing to confirm, watch @ 1:05

Delete the profile but not the svae contnent, clear the system cache then recover the profile from live. Should fix it if you keep getting problems.

Thanks everyone, he has already installed the game. He is on live right now, so next time he has the problem he will try what has been suggested.
