I know halo has powerful mini bosses, and the scarabs.
But i wish there was more, I wish there could be some giant monsters that can really scare the crap out of me and be a huge challenge to fight.
What do you guys think?

Halo 2 shudder
But anyway, this isn’t Lost Planet man. There aren’t giant monsters walking around.
I find fighting smaller boss-like enemies far more fun. It takes more strategy and is less repetitive to kill a Scarab than say, killing a huge blob of scary-looking Play-Doh that never wants to die.
but dont you think one enemy thats the same just different classes gets a little lame
I wouldn’t mind one or two but that would be it. And I wouldn’t want them to be like the Tarter Sauce fight. If there’s going to be some big boss battle I want it to be hyped up out the wazoo. Like have it broke up by mini cutscenes of the chief getting his butt kicked, really give it some drama.

Killing a Scarab took no strategy and was pretty repetitive.
Scoot around in a Mongoose until the AI player in the back shoots it’s legs enough to make it have a seizure, then crawl up it’s butt, work you way through it, killing any baddies in the way, and then explode it’s butt. In the vehicle based versions, you just opted out of the boarding part and just shot it’s butt repeatedly until it went boom.
If Scarab battles do come back, and I hope they do, there needs to be options in dealing with them.
Disable them by destroying the legs/joints.
Destroy them by pounding them with fire.
Board them and disable it from within.
The boss battles of H2 weren’t any better either. I’m not sure if 343 could do boss battles any better than Bungie tried.

Well, actually, we will have 6(?) enemy races that each have multiple classes. I think that’s good enough.

If the Scarab was to return, I’d obviously want it to be more complex. But in my opinion, boarding it, slaughtering its crew, and shooting its butt is quite entertaining. More entertaining than trying to kill a Brute on even more steroids.
you mean 2 enemy races right

Pfffffft what a boring way to go about it. It was all about hitting jumps at top speed, flying through the air, and landing on it’s back. However, that is what I did every time so I completely agree that it was repetitive.
Yeah I want boss fights but I want to be more challenging.
I want a huge crazy battle, with like 8 scarabs and hundreds of ground troops, just crazy huge scale stuff would be awesome
I don’t want to see stuff like this in a Halo game. Besides, Halo 2 had boss battles and they all sucked.
Like I said all the other times, give me large scale battles with multiple vehicles, like what we seen in Tip of the Spear except we’ll actually be in the thick of it this time. I’ll take that any day over some generic big bad monster with a single weak spot vulnerable to attack. For decades so many games out there have used that, it’s tired and old, Halo don’t need it. Give me what Tip of the Spear teased at.
I really just want to be able to fight a scarab again.

YES, absolutely.

Word.
