Hey Guys,
from 3:07 Frank says that the graveminds can be from “proto-graveminds…to full graveminds and beyond (Greg Bear will explore this in his novels)”
Yea so I was wondering what everyone thought he means by “beyond a gravemind”

He was making references to Graveminds we’ve seen. A Gravemind starts as a Proto-Gravemind. Once it gathers enough bodies, reaching a critical mass, it forms into a Gravemind like the one we saw in Halo 2. This is the galactic stage of Flood infestation. Eventually, the Flood will reach an intergalactic stage, and spread to other galaxies to being the process again.
What Frankie was referring to, most likely, was that 3rd stage, one we have never seen before.
Read more about the Flood and its life cycle here
yea the intergalactic stage, i thought about that one as well. although is that a stage of the flood or gravemind, or samething. Also it says here that the flood in the forerunner/flood war came to the galaxy in that stage, so would that mean they already have a gravemind in the third stage in another galaxy?

Theoretically. Look up the Human-Forerunner war (spoilers if you haven’t read Cryptum).
This is why Halos house flood samples, because just because the flood is no longer in this galaxy does not mean it’s wiped out
