Better to lose than to win (Firefight)

I noticed that I get about the same amount of req points for losing than I do winning or trying to win and that you would rake in more req points per hour if you lose half way through the game doubling your req points earned per hour.

Nice… Love me some REQ points!

It’s like 2000 req points if you lose on the 3rd round and you get the same for going all the way to the end.

I’m so very tempted to not try and win the object till I’ve finished my gold packs

I guess they wouldn’t like to hear they can lose even if they defeat the 5th round

My main objective for firefight is enemy commendations… dont care about W/L percentage taking a hit, and dont care about RP gained.

All I want to do is have every thing unlocked

I don’t even enjoy the game much cause all I want is to unlock every thing so I can play for fun when I have every thing at my disposal. It’s not even that I want every thing it’s just about a handfull of reqs maybe less.

and for a game type that uses reqs most of the reqs in firefight have no use cause enemies are just bullet sponges for an example would be the sword it can’t even kill a crawler with 1 hit

I played one game so far (about to try again) and we completed all rounds in 12:30. I got just over 2000RP.

I’d imagine with a worse group that could have taken much longer.

Are you seriously suggesting the game gives you the same RP for failing at round 3? If so it is time based. How much RP do you get if you drag each round out to the maximum and then win, how much RP for a 25 minute victory?

The shortest time I’ve had was 10 minutes and the longest was 18 and the amount of points earned is about the same

It’s still more RP for losing if it’s time based cause your still better off losing might even be doable losing at round 2 and still getting 2000 req points

Fun takes priority over REQ point grinding for me, that’s why I play Arena so much. I don’t care if I’d get the same amount of REQ points for losing at round 3, I’d rather enjoy the godliness that is Round 5.

Honestly I play Firefight for fun not for the REQ.

and winning is more fun in my mind

My friends are chasing their warden kill commendations. They won’t go for this. It’s more fun to see it through to the end anyways.

I believe the time your req point gain is maxed out at is 10 minutes. I think at the beginning of each game, you get a number which is multiplied by the time until it reaches 10 minutes, so you never get the same number of req points twice, but its always roughly around the same rough number range. So after 10 minutes, try and end the game.

I’ve only played one game so far, but the end its really fun, banshees are so fun in this gametype, just dive bombing grunts and jackals is nice.
