With the new Halo mechanics in this game (which i am actually a fan of), the layouts and designs and structures of all the maps were altered in order to suit how the game plays out. Although this is necessary, I still feel that many maps feel the same. I believe Halo needs more variety in the layout of their maps. Many arena maps are extremely close quarters with corridors. Although they can be fun, its pretty much all we have. I feel that there isn’t a single map out there that has a central, open space where most of the carnage can take place. Although it might not be as competitive and suitable with the new mechanics, it adds depth to the game and overall makes it more enjoyable to have these.
Even in big team battle, most of the maps are hardly considered open. Its very closed off and it makes being in a vehicle almost at a disadvantage at times.
Warzone suffers from this too, as I feel the vast majority of the areas in warzone are highly suitable for closer quartered combat and gives little open space.
This is all most likely due to the fact that one dies much quicker, but I still feel 343 should experiment with their variety. It could be a nice refresher.

just a quick note, noctus is a very open map allowing for vehicles to dominate. Other than that i can see what you mean by lack of variety. This could be a result of them focusing on balanced arena maps which when you look at them will always follow a similar formula. Thats what happens when you create with balance in mind, everything becomes symmetrical and things start to appear the same. I definitely want less UNSC style maps and more covenant or forerunner maps.
