I hope this time around on halo xb1 343 will make a much more interesting legendary ending. halo 4’s was ok but it wasnt that exciting as halo 3’s. i hope they will do better this time.
IMO, Halo 4 had the best legendary ending. It showed that chief had finally come full circle and discovered his Humanity for the first time since his youth.
I’m not sure what could be better than the Master Chief’s helmet coming off that long mysterious face…
Not that we got to see much. Just as it should stay. One glimpse is enough. That entire ending sequence though. Chills down my spine.

I agree. We shouldn’t see much more than that.
I’d say its hard to top halo 3’s, mostly cause you think its (the series) over, and then you see this big mysterious thing!
I wouldn’t call it a fault of halo 4, its still at the very least the 2nd best legendary ending.
At least it HAD a Legendary Ending looks in the general direction of Halo 2 disc
Maybe a little comedy scene like in Halo 1, but it’s pretty tough to beat 3/4’s endings.

I think for those having done the first playthrough on legendary, and then discovering what was really different made for a bit of a disappointment. Perhaps if the epilogue was only viewable from heroic and higher.

But remember, Halo 2’s Legendary ending wasn’t good.

Halo 2 didn’t have a Legendary ending. I’m gonna give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that’s what you were saying.

Also, a better legendary ending scene would be more appropriate for the last game (arguably 6) and will/is going to be AMAZING.

Gravemind/Precursor Legendary Ending
Screen fades to black, a few tentacles arise out of the dirt, and a ominous yet familiar voice screams.
“I HAVE RETURNED!”
Cortana Legendary Ending
Screen fades to black, the camera is focused on an object in the distance, flickering blue and red lights are all that can be seen.
“You found me.”
Iso-Didact Legendary Ending (Best One)
Screen fades to black, the Ur-Didacts voice is heard yet a strange difference almost two voices synced together. The dialogue plays while it flashes from the different installations, shield worlds and cities as well as the Iso-Didact being seen in his combat armor.
“Millennia ago, the forerunners ruled the galaxy. Life prospered as we protected the lesser species, upholding the mantle teachings. We have since passed are time, and now I wonder endlessly forever alone, only my sin to console me. I have lived for quite sometime, watching the universe rebuild from the ashes, of the destruction I unleashed. I will continue to wonder, mediate and find her if she still lives… Yet news has not lost my ears, my predecessor has once again arisen to thwart humanity and so my mission is to adhere and relinquish him for his crimes. And hopefully forever find peace in this abandonment.”
