Better Forge maps or DLC forge maps

Either Make better forge maps before release. witch is probably impossible to do with the time 343 has. or make Forge dlc maps for later release.

Yes a thousand times yes.

Cough Nice way to voice your opinion without saying why they are bad in your opinion, and what should be improved cough

Why should you be able to tell 343i what to do with their game? Especially when you’re not even being polite, courteous, or reasonable about it.

If hes buying it he has every right to say what he wants, some people just wow.

Probably not the best way to word your opinion but sadly I agree, Impact looks great but Erosion and Ravine look too cramped, small and the terrain to work with looks horrid. Bring back Sandbox! I would even love a snow variant of Sandbox maybe called ermm Snowbox?

Oh excuse me, so if i am buying a shirt, i can bash the guy/girl attending me because is my money?

See? You have to be polite, you can’t go all willy nilly and demand stuff.

No but you can bash the guy/girl who made it. Being polite would be nice however it is not a requirement to voice you opinion.

Wow, that’s rude.

No, it’s logic. Nobody has the right to take away someone else’s opinion when they see fit, no matter what the reason.

The argument you are using makes no sense - ‘Why should you be able to tell 343i what to do with their game?’ - because he is the consumer? The target market? Ultimately it is the customers which determine what a game will be like.

But that’s not just it. The OP seems to be overly demanding and rude, so much so that it actually across as an order and not a suggestion. And no, 343i don’t have the obligation to include everything we want. There’s simply no way to please everyone. If you want 343i to listen to your views instead of the views of others, you come to explain why you feel that way. Not act so rude; it’s just common courtesy.

I didn’t want to take away his argument or freedom of speech. I only wanted him to learn some manners. If you want 343i to include something into the game, you don’t just say “Make me some new maps NOW”. You politely and reasonably explain why you want them — in hopes that they’ll actually listen and potentially include it into the game.

I do agree with you. If you want to get anywhere on the forums use some manners (and grammar!). But completely ignoring his opinion based around his attitude isn’t the way to solve this.

A Sandbox-esque Forge map as a DLC map would be nice.

Here’s my forge DLC wishlist.

The Cartographer Map Pack
Magma - Forge map set on an active volcano with snow and ice surrounding it. (Forerunner and Covenant objects.)

Beachfront - Forge map set near the coast of New Mombasa. (Human objects and area to remake Zanzibar.)

Dunes - Forge Map set in a desert with an oasis. (Sandbox type objects and an area to remake Sandtrap and Sandbox)

Tropical - Set on a tropical island with a beautiful sunset in the background. (Forerunner Objects)

Flatgrounds - Set on a completely flat square shaped terrain piece with different biomes on each corner (All objects and tons of terrain objects to pretty much make your own terrain.)

I like the forge maps 343i is giving us and I am sure we will see more. I would like to see a forge map, lets call it Bio-Dome, where there are three spaces to forge in, on being a large box, like the one from Reach’s forge world, another would be a large circle and the other would be an octagon, all with different environmental layouts, like snow for one and desert for another and the next just plain grassy area, with flat or semi-flat surfaces, where we could place trees, rocks, etc, etc.

You guys are in denial and need to realize that there aren’t going to be any future DLC forge environments. They have Spartan Ops to continue developing, matchmaking updates, a patch has already been announced to enable flag drops in custom games, etc. There are also 9 DLC maps (competitive) being made. Huge mistakes have been made on their part. The results show in the comments. Let Kynan and Certain Afinity deal with the repercussions internally.

The pre-fabricated buildings are INSULTING to serious map designers. 343 feels that forgers don’t know how to creatively engage map design, that large open terrains are “intimidating”. Nice 1v1 map on impact, I’d rather use Octagon thanks.

Ravine looked large enough to build a BTB map on, and you don’t have to use the pre-fabs.

There are a few things that seem amiss (such as not being able to resize Gravity Volumes), but most of these have legitimate technical explanations. I don’t see any “huge mistakes” being made with Forge. :\

I just don’t like the pre-built assets on the maps, they just seem to get in the way. If they were forge pieces I would be fine with them. At this point instead of making 7 maps like I did in Reach now just seem to be reduced to 3, one on each, it just looks cluttered
