So I been playing this game since launch so I gave it a good amount of time to make any judgements. Although overall I do enjoy this game, (been playing since Halo 2 and 3) one thing that truly irritates me is the advantage some people get with great connection to servers. My connection is far from great but playable and able to hang with Onyx’s no problem for the most part. A pattern that is definitely there is around the 2000 rating to Champ level is how much better these players connections to the servers are.
One thing off the bat that these players get is their shots register so much better, farther, quicker and faster than others. As well as being stronger and straight up ridiculous. Being shot from a smg from a significant distance, an AR from halfway across the map or getting shot behind a wall for example.
The melee register alot faster. Many times have I been in a AR battle and punching at the same time but mine never registering but theirs always does.
Picking up weapons/powerups faster. I’m one of those players that keep weapons in mind and powerups spawn times and when both teams are aware they usually camp the spawns when they’re about to pop up. So many times have I rushed an Invis or OS to have it taken faster when I was there a split second earlier but the enemy picks it up faster. The same goes for power weapons which is quite annoying when its a rocket launcher.
Some other things are splinters killing so quick and not for you when you nail them perfect and they get away still. Railguns charging so much quicker, nades nailing you from a crazy distance, being able to take so many bullets, hydra doing 180s on the fly, and others things I may have forgot.
I’m not mad so this post isn’t out of spite, but for those of us that know we’re capable of a better rank or even Champ level rating this may be the same problem you’re facing. I definitely face this problem so much being as I’m always getting thrown in with high Onyx/Champ level players and constantly have to face this disadvantage every game. Peace fellow Halo players.
