betraying teammates

I just beat some guy to the scorpion at the beginning of an BTB game on exile, he ofc blows me up with 2 grenades and i die + our team looses the tank.

Now when this happends (which it does way to often) i leave the game right away, every single time some idiot betrays me for being faster then him/her to the sniper, mantis, tank or gauss hog i leave even if the game isnt more then 10 seconds old because i know that we probably isnt goint to win with people like that in our team.

What do you do when this happends?

File a report on xbox live for cheating/using exploits to influence the result of the game. Make them an avoided player for unsporting conduct.

Does that even work… reporting them?

I’ve started doing the same thing. Just last night I got the sniper on Ragnorak, and some punk kid is jumping, shooting, and meleeing my face immediately. I thought to myself “too bad kid”, and go on my way. Not 10 seconds later he splatters me with the ghost and takes the sniper. I thought about doing the same to him, but just quit. It’s not worth my time getting angry.

I really wish 343 would remove the ability to betray teammates with vehicles, and destory teammates vehicles.

This is probably the best bet. Unfortunately that’s the inherent problem with not having an Ranked playlist. People don’t take the game seriously.

I get run over by warthogs and ghosts all the time because of careless drivers, and when they don’t kill me they drop my shields leaving me exposed to a one shot kill, giving the other team an easy kill. It’s ridiculous.

I usually just ignore them. I realized that when I let idiots get under my skin I will start to play like trash. So I found out that if they notice that whatever they are doing to you isn’t getting on your nerves they tend to stop. Sometimes I go out in the open and use them as human shields if I can, haha.

Also OP try not to drop out of a lot of games. There is that ban for quitting and they don’t even give you a warning message about it at all.

there is? i havent heard about that before tbh.

But why isnt there an option to boot/forgive when you get teamkilled? seriously HOW can they not have this?

Has anyone heard/read anything about them implamenting it? If not or if its not a big concern to 343 i wish they could let us know so i can spend my cash on other things!

Oh god I had another type of incident with the Tank once. I got into the ride, but then all of the sudden a bunch of my own team mates were running towards me while I was heading out and I ended up splattering them. So when I tried to shoot a cannon into the middle cave on Exile, another teammate decides to get in the way of my cannon and it kills me instead.

I played a BTB game with randoms and 20 seconds into the game I got a sniper and I suddenly got splattered by a teammate. I said “Bi:)tch! Learn to drive” and booted him/her.

There is an option to boot / forgive for team kills. It works the same way that it has in previous halo games. There is an algorithm that determines whether this is displayed or not. The algorithm has not been revealed so that people can’t learn how to circumvent it.

However, with that being said, it would be nice if they would tweak is so the option is available in more of the cases.

There is? I have never seen or heard anything about it. So does it personally give you the option to boot or does it do it automatically?

You are presented with a message to press X to boot or B to forgive. Just like in past games. I have only gotten the option once out of the 15 or 20 times I have been betrayed

Lol that happened to me in reach one time (kinda). I got the tank in heavies and this guy started shooting me from a warthog so I blew the warthog up. He did outsmart me though… He spawned and then waited until I was passing him to jump in front of the scorpion so I betrayed him again. Then I got booted. Lol all in the first 20 seconds of match. Quite unfortunate

I created a forum that allows people to talk freely about betrayers including calling them out without risk of banning. It’s empty right now since I just made it, lol, but if you guys wanna fill it up with fun rants about online idiots in general have at it. No rules.

I usually just follow them around dropping their shields for the rest of the game.

Yep not a bad idea.

I also sometimes make a video of it and put it on my file share so others can see the childish tantrums these people throw.

Worst Betrayals I’ve endured:

  1. Ragnarok, first spawn I rushed snipe along with two other 'mates. Another team-mate beat me and the other guy to it, so we started going back up the ramp and there was noob-ero uno at the top of the ramp throwing stickies in the hole, betraying me when I didn’t even get the sniper rifle. Made a vid of that one.

  2. Adrift, Oddball. One guy sat AFK for the majority of the game. Of course we struggled the entire time just to keep up. Near the end of the game, Mr. AFK decided to participate. Some other teammate betrayed him (probably for being AFK the whole game). I heard him on his mic start cursing and raging over getting betrayed. Next thing I know, I’m rushing the enemy ball carrier before they get their final few seconds to win… And AFK guy betrays ME ! He didn’t know or care who he dealt out his retribution to.

I think that a better solution would be to make the punishment for a betrayal an instant death with the longer respawn. People would be less encouraged to betray someone if it adds a death to their count and takes them out of the game for a few extra secs.

You could also just mirror friendly fire so that all damage done to a friendly is inflicted on yourself instead as far as vehicles are concerned. I don’t mean that you should receive damage if you throw a grenade at an enemy and a friendly walks right into it.

THOSE are the best ideas to combat betraying that I have EVER READ!!!
343 read this!!!

I click on his gamertag and avoid him.
Hoppfully, we will never be in the same team again. Only kill and -Yoink!- him.
