Betrayals/Team Killing?

Am I the only one who thinks that the betrayal system is in serious need of improvement and that team killing is as well? I’m sick and tired of noobs walking right in front of me while I’m shooting a sniper and them dying and booting me because of it. But in Husky Raid when people block of shots nothing happens to them but if you just so happen to get a hold of something great like and incineration cannon then you’ll die as well and nothing would make me happier than to see them drop as well for blocking off my shot regardless of me being booted or not. Any other thoughts on team killing and the betrayal system?

I agree that the betrayal system needs to be improved, its main problem is inconsistency, someone could betray me several times without me getting the option to boot, yet I kill him once in return and suddenly I’ve left the game.

Without being rude, considering the players are in front of you, you should be more careful about where you’re shooting. I know the feeling of people walking in front of your shot and getting betrayed yet you should be aware of where your team mates are and where they might go.

Introducing friendly fire to Husky Raid is a ridiculous idea, particularly as it comes across that you feel you’re playing experience is more important than theirs. No offence but they could just as easily argue that you should be more careful with your shooting.

True. But it’s like someone jumping in front of a wraith while it’s boosting. That person is undoubtedly going to die. And in Husky Raid I’ve had people jump in front of rocket and cannon shots so I’ll die and they’ll take my gun and move on. It gets irritating when half of your deaths are suicides.

Completely agree, unfortunately people do stupid things frequently on video games, you won’t be able to stop it :confused: If the betrayal system was fixed so that “X number of betrayals allowed you to boot”, rather than a variable amount, it would help in my opinion.

As fun as Husky Raid is, unfortunately it can often end up a bit too chaotic, with people focussed on that crate jumping about and firing rockets at the opposing side. Incineration shouldn’t be on that at all in my opinion, not with that splash back! Has anyone else noticed that there isn’t a Railgun or Boltshot on that map?

You guys need to seriously learn 1 thing about the betrayal system:

It’s NOT reliant on how many times you were betrayed. It’s only reliant on the person who betrayed you. I’ve gathered a few things about the system, so PLEASE read and EDUCATE other players so maybe they’ll understand.

Betrayal Booting is controlled on what seems like a “point” basis. Doing any amount of physical damage to a teammate accumulates points under your gamertag. For this explanation, we’ll say a threshold of 305 points is when the boot option becomes available.

Also, this needs mentioned, as time progresses in and out of game, your points accumulated gradually reduces until you hit 0 points again. This is pretty lengthy, but on average it seems about 100 points will shed off over the span of around 2 games; at least, based on my experience.

Example Situation:
Shields = 60 points
Health = 40 points
------------------
TOTAL = 100 points

If I were to drain only the shields of my teammate, I’ll accumulate 60 betrayal points to my name. Fully killing a teammate at full-shields will net me a full 100 points. Now, for me to get booted, I have to initiate a betrayal that has me AT or OVER 305 points. This means, if I haven’t damaged teammates in roughly 3 games, I’m pretty safe to insta-betray a teammate (full shields and 1-hit killing a teammate) a total of 3 times for 300 points. I haven’t broken the 305-point threshold, so those people won’t get options to boot me. However, I can drain teammates shields, health, etc all I want and pass up 305 points, but unless I FINISH OFF a teammate AND it count as a betrayal, then no one will get the option to boot me. So if my teammate is also BARELY no-shields, then finishing a teammate off will net me about 40 points for wiping their health out. 1 BR burst will net around 15 points, etc.

Because of this, a team of 4 or 5 can team up and betray a random teammate multiple times per player, so long as they don’t cross the threshold to get booted. This means on a team of 4, my teammates could betray me at LEAST 9 times (3 times each player), before a 10th betrayal would let me boot that person, because he would more than likely cross that 305-point threshold when the betrayal occurred. However, this is ONLY if the betrayals are insta-betrayals on you. I believe a betrayal is if a teammate kills you when you still have at least 60% shields and full-health, so take that into consideration as well.

I feel once people understand the system, it works as intended. Yes, it sucks, but it keeps from 1 person being able to purposely walk around and initiating betrayals on themselves to continuously boot teammates at a quick rate. This way also punishes the player for not being cautious and to teach them to be mindful when throwing grenades, firing explosives, and just overall gaining situational awareness in the process.

Basically, if you get betrayal-booted, then you earned your way there, because you aren’t mindful of teammates. Yes, I’ve been booted, but only 2 times out of almost 6000 games. Yes, there are players that are empty-headed enough to walk into anything possible. But it doesn’t and shouldn’t happen enough to get booted if you are paying enough attention. So watch what you’re doing.

I agree with the original post so damn much. The amount of times where I am in a wraith and just spamming bombs and then like a player just jumps on top of my vehicle and dies is so damn high.

The problem is the game can’t actually tell if what you do is intentional.

There are just some dumb people/trolls out there.

I never betray anyone intentionally and I almost never shoot teammates either. Yet when I accidentally run over a moron who jumps in front of my vehicle I can get booted for the first betrayal.

IMO betrayals should either be in or out but not halfway. If I cannot shoot my team, then I should not have to avoid them with vehicles either. I want betrayals to be consistent.

I hardly ever get booted but people act like open spaces are for them ONLY and not for the vehicles. I am glad however that they removed team EMPing as people abused the crap out of that for all the wrong reasons.

Anyone else find it weird that the announcer only says “Betrayal” even if you got betrayed? It makes it hard to know who did what sometimes especially if you splitscreen. I also think it would be cool if they added a betrayal medal so you know who betrayed someone and how many times they did it.
