Betrayals should not equal Deaths

I have been playing a lot of Grifball lately because of the win bonus, but I have also been getting betrayed a lot during the games of Grifball I get into =(

Please make betrayals not equal deaths in Halo 4 343 . . If it’s to late to make such a change in Halo 4, then please make it so for Halo 5 and 6.

Why should I or anyone go negative because of someone’s negligence or just plan rudeness (betraying for a sniper . . etc).

ps To everyone who would say “relax it’s just a game” . .

It’s a matter of fairness, no one should get punished (The betrayal counting as a death) for someone’s negligence or just plan rudeness.

I, actually, agree. I’d say I’ve been betrayed well over one hundred times and that’s going on my service record. I don’t think it should count as anything.

EDIT: Also, let me add that; a betrayal booting option DOES NOT justify a perfection and/or something else. It’s a big problem.

Sounds like someone is a little too attached to his K/D spread…

Thank you =)

They really shouldn’t count as anything, if someone get’s betrayed, then it really should just count as nothing.

Did you not read the part where I said it’s a matter of fairness ?

And my K/D is just above 1.0, so I don’t have a really high K/D.

And committing suicide shouldn’t count as deaths either.

Im indifferent on the matter to be honest. It is annoying to be on a spree and have some jerk on your team ruin it but it is still technically a death. It would be nice if they added something like a Betrayal on top of K/D.

Exactly lol! I don’t really care, if you betray it’s your wrong doing, even though sometime’s it is an accident…YAY 500th post!

That’s a different matter . .

Suicides should still count as deaths, because they can serve as a learning experience.

They can make people be more careful with what they do.

i love when teammates are jealous that youre about to get a perfection so then they try and kill you

I guess you didn’t read the part where it said it’s about a matter of fairness also =(

I really hate when that happens.

That is yet another reason why betrayals shouldn’t count as deaths.

I’m kinda on the fence about this one.

On one hand: I really hate betrayals (They are the only thing I hate more than Yoinks)

On the other hand: This could lead to teammates being careless with things like Grenades and Rockets.

I hate being Betrayed, but I’d also hate it if an opponent waltzed into a room with me and 2 of my teammates and shot a Rocket at his feet, leaving him alive and the 3 of us dead.

Also, if a teammate takes your shields down and an enemy kills you, that should TOTALLY count as a Betray. Or at least give them a “Betrayal Assist” medal or something…

That’s how I wanted it in Reach. Betraying gives a medal that takes away credits.

Betrayals should definitely not count as deaths. :frowning:

I think a betrayal should hurt only the person that betrayed his tm. It should not affect the team score, but penalize him in someway. Like say it tallies on how many betrays he has on his service record, and maybe a slight exp penalty for each betrayal? In some gametypes the penalty should be worse example: Griffball, small penalty, team slayer, larger penalty.

The penalty for betraying in Team Doubles should make people cry just knowing that such a harsh punishment exists in the world.

People would still die if they get betrayed, it just wouldn’t count as a death for the person that got betrayed.

Also I agree with you on your other points, people that betray should get more punishments on top of getting booted.

That way it would hopefully make them think twice before they betray.

No friendly fire in Halo 4(at least in one video, thank God they took that crap out) so we don’t have to worry about this.

Betrayals should count as deaths because you died. But they should count as deaths in the same way that the betrayer should get a kill for betraying you; that is, somewhere the game should have a number for Total Deaths and Total Kills that is just for display purposes (and data retrieving, I suppose), but that the Trueskill system and your Service Record don’t use.

Then there’s Deaths and Kills. We’ve settled for Kills not counting betrayals in the past – so why not have Deaths not include being betrayed?

So yeah, I agree with the OP.

Something like that should happen and the betrayal shouldn’t count as a death for the person that got betrayed.
