I am not a great player, and I rarely sit back to get skill sprees and what not. Today I got my first Halo 4 “perfection” and yes I did sort of sit back and snipe. Well I didnt get a perfection because my teammate killed me with 1 kill left in the BTB slayer game. He had been trying to betray me with a ghost when I had 10 kills and luckily I had managed to destroy his ghost so he would kill me. I had reached 15-0 and had 1 sniper bullet left, a plasma pistol and 0 grenades with 4 kills left in the game. Knowing me and my skill, I decided to hide and take the safe route inside a cave tunnel. He followed me with a ghost do I jumped up on a rock. Fearing that he could slid up the rock and still kill me, I tried to jump up higher on another platform. I jumped but didnt realize how low the cave’s ceiling was so I fell off and he splatter betrayed me with 1 kill left in the game. Never got that perfection, and with my skill, never will I get one again.
Why do you (343i) count a death to the person who got betrayed? There is no good reason for that. Halo 4 is nearly “untrollable” besides betrayals with vehicles and teammates damage to teammate operated vehicles. Fix this please!
I have a strange respect for people who make such admissions, and it’s always nice to see someone who becomes genuinely happy when they get a perfection medal, as opposed to the many spoiled brats who now expect to receive them.
I agree it’s messed up for sure, but what can you do? The alternative (not counting it as a death) can be manipulated by folks trying to boost their k/d if they coordinate well with their friends.

You were betrayed cause a teammate killed you so it’s a death. Now if you were betrayed cause he stole your girlfriend then it wouldn’t count as a death.
I agree completely with you- and understand the heart ache that a perfection medal is quite possably out of reach - got excited that I discovered I get a medal for surviving an entire round of Flood (used similar hide and keep hiding tactics) If everyone was honest they would admit they do it too sometimes when they suddenly realize they are about to have a really good spree or a flawless game- you enjoy the game more when your not thinking about your K/D ratio and just trying to kill that annoying guy (on the OTHER team) with the purple/pink armor. Recently got grouped with three guys in Spartan Ops - two kept killing my Mantis while the 3rd racked up kills. It is what it is.
I was 14-0 on one of the Crimson maps when my teammate ran me over with a ghost. I know it was intentional because I was stationary on the roof of one of the bunkers.
I also have a video saved of me being betrayed by 3 people on my team over and over. Not once did I get a single option to boot them, but when I decided to retaliate, guess who got sent to the main menu.

Can anyone actually see that tiny little message? And I feel your pain OP, I’ve had three perfections denied because of stupid -Yoink-.

That is a good point. Iv heard teamates who scream over theur headset that someone on the other team is on a killing spree and we need to stop them. Tends to result in teamates throwing them selves at the other team

I actually had awesome teammates once when I was playing Halo: Reach, I was on a killing frenzy/running riot very early into the game and some random guys started cheering for me to get a huge spree. When I reached an Invincible they just started following me around like bodyguards and then I ended the game with 39-0, while I killed the 40th a second after the game was over. They were actually sad that I didn’t get the Unfrigginbelievable. It didn’t bother me at all, because I get huge sprees daily, but it was really awesome to meet some guys like that. I was lucky as well, because it was one of the few times I didn’t play with a team.
But on-topic: Even though it’s really sad they did that, it’s still a death no matter what and it should stay that way. Halo 4 even doesn’t punish your team anymore if you betray each other or suicide. You will get a death but the team’s points won’t go down.
